The German YouTubers and streamers Gronkh, PapaPlatte, and Trymacs are launching the Spielesause again in 2022. However, this time it will take place without gamescom and a little later than the previous year. MeinMMO presents all the information about the start, participants, and the planned games.
What is the Spielesause?
- The Spielesause is a live event hosted by the Twitch stars Gronkh, Trymacs, and PapaPlatte that combines gaming with real games like soccer and the community.
- The streamers will broadcast their regular stream from the event location. They will take turns, and the rest will take over via the shared IRL stream.
- Various guests from film, television, streaming, and music are also invited to compete in the games.
- In addition to sports activities, there will also be games to help raise money for a good cause. Last year, there was a poker tournament and a cooking show.
Spielesause 2 in Autumn – What to Expect at the Live Event
Via Twitter, the event organizer announced that the Spielesause returns this year – under the grand title “Spielesause 2”. Last year, the livestream event took place during the gamescom period. The reason was that the gamescom could only take place online due to the ongoing Corona pandemic. The Spielesause aimed to give fans the feeling that the game fair was in full swing, at least via Twitch.
When does it start? Since the gamescom 2022 is apparently going to be held on-site in Cologne again, the hosts Gronkh, Papaplatte, and Trymacs are postponing the Spielesause by a few weeks. All fans looking forward to it will have to be patient until Autumn 2022 when the event is supposed to start. When exactly is yet to be revealed by the organizers and hosts.
Who are the participants? So far, not many participants have been announced, and all are from the streaming sector. However, this is likely not because the Spielesause 2 is smaller, but due to the early planning phase of the event. In the following list, all announced participants are included, and as new ones are added, we will include them:

The exact location where Spielesause 2 will be held and which games and setups are planned is currently still unknown. Due to the postponement because of the on-site gamescom in Cologne, it is likely that the streamers will host the event again in the halls of the Cologne Exhibition Center.

The success of the Spielesause last year 2021
In 2021, the first Spielesause took place. The dimensions of the project were boldly massive and perhaps that’s why it can claim to be the gamescom event with the highest reach. Millions of people tuned in on all broadcast platforms. A total of 41 million times, content related to the Spielesause was accessed (via gameswirtschaft.de):
- Twitch: 9.4 million viewers
- YouTube: 2.3 million views
- Instagram: 7.7 million impressions
- TikTok: 6.9 million impressions
- Twitter: 7.5 million interactions
The new Spielesause has to face these numbers even without the gamescom promise behind it. For all fans of livestreaming events, the Spielesause 2022 is a must.
