The battle royale game Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) will soon offer special football skins for the FIFA World Cup 2018. This time you don’t have to choose a specific nation, as the jersey colors are supposedly customizable. Even for nations that are not qualified for the World Cup.
Fortnite meets FIFA: The FIFA World Cup in Russia starts on June 14, 2018. As with the Winter Olympics in South Korea, there will also be special skins with sports jerseys this time. However, with the winter sports, you had to decide on a nation or buy the skin multiple times if you wanted Germany, England, and France together.
The football outfits are a bit more customer-friendly.
8 Football Skins with Selectable Prints for the FIFA World Cup
This is how the new skins work: According to a leak from Instagram user @JH9, the new football skins in Fortnite are fully customizable. You initially have the choice between eight base outfits, four for women and four for men. The skins differ in the patterns on the jersey and the skin and hair color of the wearer.
Choose number and nation yourself: In the Instagram leak, we see that the skins do not have a fixed nation and number. You choose them in a customization menu yourself. So you can show your support for “Die Mannschaft”, “Squadra Azzurra”, or the “Seleção” as you like.
Not all World Cup participants are included in the Football Skins
What can I choose? The nations available for selection are allegedly: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, England, Egypt, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the USA and Uruguay.
Some World Cup participants are missing, including Croatia, Senegal, and Morocco. However, Italy, the Netherlands, the USA, and Canada are selectable in Fortnite, but not actually participating in the FIFA World Cup.
Keep in mind that this leak is not yet confirmed and the skins are not yet available for purchase in the shop. The exact appearance of the football skins and the nation selection may still change!
