Funcom has announced its financial figures for the second quarter of 2016, showing a loss.
Compared to the revenue from the first quarter, the company has reported a loss of 36 percent. This was likely expected, as it has been announced that sales figures for the games in the portfolio are slowly but steadily declining. However, operational costs have been reduced and some debts have been repaid, so the company is not doing as poorly as the figures might suggest. A loan from June of half a million dollars has been repaid. The company’s restructuring measures are still ongoing.
New Games in Development
Currently, the team is working intensively on the upcoming survival MMO Conan Exiles. Additionally, another game featuring the Conan brand is in the works, but nothing is currently being revealed about it. The team is also developing a spin-off to The Secret World, which will help the team in North Carolina perfect their use of Unreal Engine 4. However, it is intended to be an experimental game, and therefore it is not expected to significantly impact the financial figures.
