The event “Toxic Swamp” starts Saturday in Pokémon GO and brings its bonuses into the game for a few days. We show you the new shiny, candy and Rocket bonuses as well as the event Pokémon.
What kind of event is this? This weekend, the GO Fest is taking place in New York City. Trainers on-site can enjoy some event specials. But players around the world who are not traveling to New York City will also have something to gain from the event. A few contents will be unlocked globally.

Event Overview for Toxic Swamp
How long does the event last? From Saturday (August 19) at 10:00 am local time until Tuesday (August 22) at 8:00 pm local time.
Which new shiny is there? For the first time, you can find and catch shiny Algitt in Pokémon GO. It can evolve into Tandrak.
What are the bonuses? During the event, three bonuses are active:
- You will receive double the amount of candies for catching Pokémon.
- Balloons with Team GO Rocket appear more frequently.
- For spinning gyms, you will receive an additional free raid pass per day.
Additionally, you will encounter various poison and dragon Pokémon in raids, in the wild, and as rewards from field research.

A free limited research will bring you tasks related to raid battles. If you complete them, you will be rewarded with encounters of poison and dragon Pokémon. The rewards also include Miniras.
