Since early December, the weather at Pokémon GO has also played a big role. But bright sunshine was far from all. The biggest black cloud over the players’ heads has now been fixed.
For a few weeks now, the dynamic weather has been displayed in Pokémon GO and adjusts to the real environment. Pokémon that correspond to the weather then appear more frequently: Water Pokémon, for example, on rainy days. Their values are also increased, resulting in more Stardust at the end.
Danger is imminent! Or is it not?
However, the weather adjustments had a drawback, especially in the USA: When a real weather warning was issued by the weather service, Niantic immediately switched to extreme and disabled the weather spawns. That meant: No Stardust bonuses and no increased spawns of the corresponding species.
Well. Maybe one should not venture outside when a nasty blizzard is raging. However, the weather warnings were too sensitive and not one hundred percent accurate. Weather warnings were triggered even when one was out in the most beautiful sunshine. The players still faced the disadvantages.
The fix followed swiftly
This protective mechanism is a good thing in itself, especially in the USA, where many companies need to protect themselves from certain legal consequences. However, it is also simply annoying when it is triggered over the smallest snowflake.
However, Niantic quickly listened to the fans and added a useful feature. From now on, you can mark yourself as “safe” during a storm warning and thus avoid the disadvantages.
So if a storm is predicted in your area, even though the little birds around you are chirping in the sun: Don’t worry, the rescue button is ready!
