Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft: Classic will soon have a playable demo. We reveal how you can join in.
It has gone quiet about the project “World of Warcraft: Classic.” For several months, there has been no news. Many players hoped that BlizzCon 2018 would bring new information – but this new information is already here. At BlizzCon 2018, World of Warcraft: Classic will be playable!
“Virtual Ticket” holders can also play: The special thing is that all holders of the “Virtual Ticket” for BlizzCon 2018 can also participate.
Those who own the ticket will be able to download the current Classic client and also take a look at the classic version of World of Warcraft.
For one week, 2 classic WoW zones are open
How long is the demo playable? Shortly after the opening ceremony on November 2, around 21:00, the servers for the demo of WoW: Classic are expected to go live. They will remain active until “at least November 8” at 18:00, giving all players a few days to check out the demo.
What to expect on such a “Vanilla” server, we have explained here.
What does the demo include? According to Ion Hazzikostas, players will be able to experience a few “iconic areas” of World of Warcraft, level up a bit, and distribute talent points. However, he did not specify the exact scope of the demo. There is talk of two classic low-level zones, one Horde zone and one Alliance zone.
Release still unknown: The biggest question has not yet been answered. There is still no official release date for the full version of WoW: Classic. A date might be announced at BlizzCon. Many fans suspect, however, that the project will take at least another year to recreate the world of Classic.
An insider suggests that Classic will not be released “until after 2021.”
Are you looking forward to the demo of WoW: Classic? Or will you wait until the full version is released?
