The survival show 7 vs. Wild has been shaped for years by Fritz Meinecke as the founder and face of the show. But for months, there have been rumors about whether he will participate in this year’s season. Now he has clarified the situation with a post on Instagram.
Is Fritz Meinecke back in 7 vs. Wild? No, Fritz Meinecke will not be participating in 7 vs. Wild anymore, the series founder recently stated on his Instagram profile. Co-founders Max Kovacs and Johannes Hovekamp are also said to have left the show, according to his statement.
For months there have been rumors that Fritz Meinecke and the production company “CaliVision” do not want to work together for season 5 anymore. The announcement of the new season, which did not come from Fritz Meinecke as usual, also raised doubts. Now Meinecke is revealing some background information.
For many fans, Knossi was a surprise in 7 vs. Wild:
No trouble with the production company
Why did the founders leave the show? The founders of 7 vs. Wild sold their own show to the production company “CaliVision” several years ago. The reason was the increased workload that came with season 2.
Since the sale, there have been ongoing problems with the production company. Directly in season 3, the first season produced by CaliVision, series founder Fritz Meinecke accused them of lying in the behind-the-scenes format on YouTube and misrepresenting facts.
While Meinecke himself was still a participant in seasons 1 to 3, he only appeared as a creative force behind season 4 in New Zealand and was responsible for developing the scenario. He was only briefly visible in the series.
According to the Instagram post by Fritz Meinecke, there is no trouble between the founders and the company CaliVision. He clearly states on Instagram: “No one was taken advantage of and there is no trouble behind the scenes.”
The series founder, however, wants to experience the new season as a viewer. Further details about his exit from the series are to be explained by the survival expert in a separate video that will be released soon.
How are fans reacting to the exit? The fans of 7 vs. Wild are not very surprised but still saddened by Meinecke’s departure from 7 vs. Wild. Many believe that the series will lose its character now.
This is probably because Meinecke has always emphasized that many of the things in 7 vs. Wild were real survival experiences thanks to him, and the responsible parties at the production company, for example, even found it okay to use a gas grill for fire-making in season 3. Meinecke, on the other hand, noted that the series would suffer a significant loss of credibility if this happened. Also, a location directly opposite a hotel in season 3 gave fans this impression.
Accordingly, fans are now reacting to Fritz Meinecke’s exit. On Reddit, user pandaronsch writes: “Phew, even without Max and Johannes … I’m curious about the direction this whole thing develops.” User Professional_Gur2469 responds underneath: “Jungle camp.” While viewer K4193 remembers: “Skotti gas grill.”
Especially concerning the participants, many fans are worried that celebrities from reality TV might now participate. User crimbatz also thinks on Reddit: “Hopefully Claudia Effenberg is at least participating. You know, the wife of the famous soccer player. Mönchengladbach, Bayern, and so on.” Also, fan _Bordelaise_ believes: “That would be perfect. She also participated in jungle camp at one point. So she already has experience in trash TV.”
How the series will develop in the future without Fritz Meinecke, Max Kovacs, and Johannes Hovekamp remains to be seen. One of the possible candidates for season 5 is reportedly a vegan influencer: First candidate of 7 vs. Wild season 5 is allegedly a vegan influencer – considering to exit right away
