The horror game Friday the 13th: The Game has a release date and a trailer. The trailer is characteristically brutal and shows Jason Voorhees at work, and you wouldn’t want to be his work material.
Gun Media has announced the release date for Friday the 13th: The Game. Friday the 13th: The Game will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 26 – however, only the multiplayer half of the game. A single-player campaign will be added later. In the single-player campaign, players will control the killer.
The game is expected to cost around 40 US dollars – which will likely also be 40 euros.

The game has been in development for several years and has certainly been watched with interest. Originally it was known as “Slasher Vol 1: Summer Camp” and was funded through a crowdfunding campaign.
Really brutal
It was later changed to “Friday the 13th: The Game” when the license was obtained. The director of Friday the 13th had intended to create a game anyway, and it seemed to fit well.
We released a trailer in mid-March that showcases the brutal executions in the game. The game sets new standards for brutality.
The game is a so-called asymmetrical online multiplayer game. This means: 1 killer faces off against up to 7 “Survivors” or “Victims”. It aims to stay as true to the films as possible.
Even in the new launch trailer, you can see the brutal ways in which Jason Voorhees eliminates victims and how desperately they fight back against it.
Friday the 13th: The Game currently has a competitor on PC, “Dead by Daylight”, which essentially follows the same game principle. Dead by Daylight is also set to be released for PS4 and Xbox One – but only in June. So Friday the 13th will have an advantage – and of course, the strong license behind it helps.
