The Free2Play shooter Agents: Biohunters disappeared just two weeks after its launch on Steam. Now it is back, and apparently, there have been some positive changes.
What is Agents: Biohunters? In the game, there were mutations in the environment and among the animals due to a bio-particle-like substance. A group of agents is supposed to prevent the Earth from sinking into chaos and ensure that the particles are not misused for evil purposes. You belong to the Biohunter agents.
You and your team of three players will face not only mutants but also other players in the missions. The PvEvP battles, thanks to the colorful comic graphics, somewhat resemble a mix of Overwatch and Fortnite. It is even possible to build structures to use them as cover at strategic positions. The goal is to defeat the powerful Rognar. The team that does this first wins the match.
How did the shooter start? The version that went online on April 7 was severely rated with bad reviews on Steam. The Steam rating was only 35%. Criticisms included
- a lack of tutorial
- massive lags
- an excessively large map for too few players
- inaccurate controls
- disconnects
The criticism was so massive that the developers decided two weeks later to take the multiplayer shooter offline.
What is the situation like now? After about six weeks and a major overhaul, Agents: Biohunters is now available again on Steam. The reviews are somewhat better and are gradually increasing. Currently, the reviews on Steam average 48%, but problems still persist. These are mainly related to the fact that it is an early access game where not all features have been implemented yet. Even though the shooter is now somewhat better received, it still has a long way to go.
- Weilan writes on Steam: “It’s not a bad game, but it’s the kind of game that nobody really wants. It offers a mix of battle royale, MOBA, and other such genres that only work in a very specific environment. Currently, this game does not have the qualities to attract a sufficiently large player base.”
- 64mdavis says: “I’m writing this review after a long, flawed early access session. It’s a fun game and has a lot of potential to be good. I look forward to seeing how much this game improves. It has a good idea, nothing crazy, original, or stunning, just a fun 3v3 third-person shooter.”
- [P]oUpi writes: “It’s a good game that requires a lot of teamwork, but there are still bugs and it crashes frequently. I hope the developers will fix this soon. It’s hard to find players, and there are often disconnects and crashes. It’s a good game, but it needs a lot of work and repairs.”
