Dauntless, a free alternative to Monster Hunter, recently caused a lot of distress among players with a major update. Now the developers are trying to turn things around.

At the beginning of December, there was a major update for Dauntless, which brought many changes into the game, but this alienated players with thousands of hours.
Now the studio behind the game has released plans to compensate players and save the game.
In-game currency and roadmap
Why are players upset? In addition to some important features in the game, such as the crafting system for weapons, many items were also removed from the game with the update. Instead, a greater focus was placed on monetization, for example, to unlock new weapons.
Players with many hours played have therefore lost a significant part of their inventory.
How will the players be compensated? On the official website of the game, the developers published a post in which they first apologize to the players. They also state that players returning to the game will be compensated as follows:
- 300,000 Rams and 5,000 Combat Merits
- 500 Peerless Aetherite
- all game modes will be activated immediately
Furthermore, the developers state in their post that they take the players’ criticism seriously. In this context, they have published a roadmap that addresses major points such as progress in the game, monetization, technical issues, gameplay problems, and the loss of core elements in the game.
For these points, the studio explains what criticism they have received from the community, the current status regarding each topic, and what is planned for the future.
While they will be working on the technical issues, the area of monetization will be evaluated to find a good path for sustainability for the developers and fairness for the players.
