In War Thunder, the French planes were missing until now. But soon almost 30 new aircraft from the Grande Nation will come to the game!
In War Thunder, you can already find masses of aircraft from the times of both World Wars and the Cold War. Among them are all sorts of nations, including England, the German Reich, the Soviet Union, the USA, the Japanese Empire, and Italy. The French were missing so far and were not allowed to participate.
But soon a new update will come that introduces nearly 50 new aircraft, including almost 30 planes from France.
Update 1.73 brings France’s Air Force into the game
The aircraft of France are less known compared to such flying legends as the German Messerschmitt, the English Spitfire, or the Japanese Zero. One reason for this is that France was overrun by the Germans early in World War II, which limited their ability to build and develop aircraft during that time.
Nevertheless, there were aircraft from France before and after the war. Even during the war, some were still developed and built. Among the selection from France are the following machines:
- Dewoitine D.371: A monoplane from the pre-war period that was used in the Spanish Civil War and fought on the side of the Republic against the fascists.
- SNCASO SO.8000 Narval: An unusual fighter with a ducted fan at the tail. The aircraft is, like many French planes, versatile, for example as an interceptor, bomber, or reconnaissance.
These two aircraft and many more will be available with Update 1.73. In the coming week, there will be more information on the blog of developer Gaijin Entertainment.
Not interested in airplanes? Update 1.71 for War Thunder primarily brought new tanks from the Cold War into the game.
