Fortnite: Battle Royale is taking a hard stance against cheaters and fraudsters. Sometimes, however, the wrong people get caught in the crossfire. But the developers at Epic are generous with such mistakes and offer V-Bucks as compensation.
Collateral damage in the fight against cheaters: Epic bans a large number of players every day for cheating or otherwise negative behavior. However, some players are wrongfully banned.
Unjustified bans are extremely frustrating when one is completely innocent and has to forgo their battle royale fun for an extended period.
On top of that, there is an annoying process to prove through customer service that one was actually innocent. However, in the case of Fortnite, at least one can look forward to a small bonus after the exhausting battle with customer support.
Compensation for Victims
What happens when someone is wrongfully banned? If a player is banned in Fortnite and is proven innocent, it’s worth more to Epic than just offering a platitude from customer service.
Instead, Epic is likely to grant anyone who is wrongfully banned an additional 2,000 V-Bucks, the in-game currency of Fortnite. At least that’s what a Reddit user claimed.
Is Epic really giving out free Bucks? The site Dot-eSports subsequently inquired with Epic and actually received confirmation: Yes, they would proceed this way for wrongfully issued bans but would not provide further details about the process.
What are 2,000 V-Bucks worth? While this amount is not a fortune, it is still worth about 20 euros. Coincidentally, that is exactly the value of a legendary skin from the shop, the most expensive items in the game.
You can therefore sweeten your frustration over the ban with a nice new outfit. By the way, you can find a list of all available skins here afterwards. So if you are currently dealing with a ban and are truly innocent, you might already consider what you will buy with it.
However, some players insist they’ve been wrongfully banned. But they are still waiting for the letter from Epic with 2000 V-Bucks and the good news “You are free from Fortnite jail.”
