The Fortnite World Championship is over and Bugha is a deserving winner. The favorite of many, however, is the 13-year-old King.
Who is King? The Argentine, whose real name is Thiago Lapp, was previously known to very few. He is only 13 years old and his eSports career is quite literally still in its infancy.
Nevertheless, he thrilled thousands of viewers at the Fortnite World Championship last weekend.
That’s why King is so loved by viewers
What did King do? While most participants in the solo final played rather cautiously, King was not deterred and played particularly aggressively.
He rushed from one opponent to the next and collected numerous kills. In one round, he even eliminated the star streamer Tfue.
King quickly became popular with the viewers because fans saw almost always action and many kills. For every kill that King achieved, the audience in New York cheered loudly.
What place did the Argentine take? In the end, it was 5th place for King. 900,000 dollars now await the 13-year-old. In the end, even more could have been possible, as he was eliminated right at the start in one round. He hadn’t even landed when a fellow player took him out.
If he could have attacked the same way in that round, surely a higher placement would have been possible.
How does King react to this fame? He himself has not commented on the placement. Recently, he thanked Twitter for over 14,000 viewers at one stream. It seems the fans want to continue to see him after the WMs.
There is a video on Twitter from King after the World Championship. There, he is in the arms of his father and is overwhelmed by his emotions. His father seems visibly proud of his son.
The winner of the solo World Championship was hacked directly on Twitter and Twitch:
