Season 10 is coming to an end in Fortnite soon. Next Sunday it will happen. Our author Eilyn explains why she expects a huge live event and a new map for Season 11.
Season X brought some positive and negative surprises. But the storyline was extremely exciting and well told. I was able to find many clues that made me ponder – both about the past and the future of Fortnite:
- The mixture of past seasons with the current season evoked nostalgic feelings in me. It celebrated the past of Fortnite.
- But the clues indicate a new map for Season 11. Data miners found some leaks that could indicate this. This in turn suggests an exciting future for Fortnite.
I think the event will be huge!
What kind of event is this? At the end of Season X, a live event will take place. On October 13th at 8:00 PM it will happen and I am really looking forward to it.
Why I think it will be a huge event:
I have witnessed every live event so far. It is always my personal highlight at the end of a season. But this live event feels different to me, because I think something huge is brewing. These are the reasons:
- There are several “items” from past live events on the map (The floating island, the rocket, the meteor, the skeleton of Cattus and the “rift ball” at Loot Lake)
- In Season X we took a journey through the past, perhaps to finally say goodbye to the previous seasons
- The live event could reach such proportions that the entire map would be destroyed
My theory about the live event:
I have thought about how the live event might unfold. I noticed that there are some items on the map related to past live events. What if all these items play a role in the event?
My theory: It is just before 8:00 PM, the skeleton of Cattus has mysteriously disappeared. The rocket launches at 8:00 PM, it flies to the rift ball at Loot Lake and is teleported there. However, once the rocket is launched, time flows normally again and the meteor strikes in Dusty Depot.
The rocket comes out at the other end of the rift and crashes into the floating island. Kevin the cube, which is located in the island, explodes and destroys a large part of the map.
This creates a huge shockwave and revives the monster from Polar Peak. The robot “Doggus” returns to the island to save the island’s inhabitants. There is another battle between the 2 giants, but this time the monster wins.
It destroys the remaining part of the map.
The island is now uninhabitable and the Battle Bus takes the players to a new map. We wave gratefully to the bus driver, just like you could see in the loading screen of the “Last Stop Challenges”.
Why I expect a new map in Season 11

The place where they are located looks new to me. You can see a large lake surrounded by mountains and hills. I have never seen this place on the current map.
Leaked POIs that could belong to the new map: The data miner Lucas7yoshi found some names of places that suggest a new map. Although the names sound similar to the places that already existed on the map, they are still quite different. I would be happy to see a new version of the familiar places on a new map.

Why I wish for a new map: After playing so many seasons, I would really wish for a new map. It would be nice to finally explore new places again. Moreover, it would be a perfect fresh start, as no one would be familiar with the new map.
A new map will definitely bring fresh wind into the game and provide even more motivation to continue playing Fortnite. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Fortnite, but it would make me happy to explore something completely new again.
