In Fortnite: Battle Royale, Season 3 is expected to come to an end in a few weeks, but data miners have found a new clue in the data that could indicate a delayed start for Season 4.
Here’s what’s happening in Fortnite: Season 3 is currently in full swing, and the map has mostly recovered after the flooding. According to data miners, the water level is now reportedly just before the end of the last stage.
The end of Season 3 is also expected according to the Battle Pass on August 27th, which would be in about 4 weeks, but the highlight of the season: the cars are still missing.
Epic said it might take weeks before the cars are ready to drive in Fortnite. So what’s the status on the end of Season 3?
Will Season 3 be extended?
This was found: The data miner VastBlast found an interesting date in Fortnite’s files:
According to the data miner, this data should relate to the current map and until when it is supposed to be active. The end activity date has been set to September 14th. This could be an indication that Season 3 could indeed be extended.
However, keep in mind that this shift may not happen, as it has not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Players are divided
This is what players from the community say about this finding: The new finding by VastBlast was also shared on Reddit, and some players are expressing their thoughts in the comments.
Some seem not to rely on the date anyway and believe it’s just a plan B. One player says:
“Honestly, I think this is just an end date in case they really have to delay the season, and then the map doesn’t get “broken.” The last thing they want is to have to extend the season and then suddenly the water rises again, like it did at the start of the season.”
Others point out that the delay could actually happen because there are challenges for a total of 12 weeks, which wouldn’t work with the planned end.
When Season 3 will really end and usher in Season 4 remains to be seen until Epic officially comments on it. However, extensions of seasons are not unknown in Fortnite. Season 1 Chapter 2 was even extended by months.
