In Fortnite, players were able to return skins for a short time and received V-Bucks in return. However, this “selling of skins” in Fortnite was quickly disabled. There are now indications of when it might return: very soon.
What is this feature? The feature arrived a month ago, on April 24th, in Fortnite. Players could return three old skins and receive back the full amount of V-Bucks they previously paid for the item. However, only relatively “new” skins purchased within the last 30 days could be returned.
But it was quickly disabled: There apparently was a bug that allowed players to exploit the system. It seems that older skins and Battle Pass tiers were also returned. This was not actually planned. Therefore, the feature was only active for a few hours before Epic pulled it back. The outcry from players was significant: Some of those who missed it were quite frustrated.
Exchange action reportedly to be functional by June 1st
Feature back on June 1st? Supposedly, returning skins will be coming back very soon. The feature is expected to be active again by June 1st. Players will then once again be able to exchange up to three cosmetic purchases for V-Bucks. The feature is set to come with the update on May 29th.
How will the feature return? Probably just as originally planned. Players will only be able to return “recently purchased skins,” meaning not the old ones. Players had requested to be able to return the very old skins they no longer like, but that will likely not happen.
Is this official? Sort of. The information comes from a user. Via imgur and reddit, a player has published an email from Fortnite Customer Support. It could be a fake, but it looks quite real. However, even if the ticket is genuine, Epic’s plans for Fortnite might still change.
