Fortnite has many terms that are hidden in abbreviations. Many players do not understand what certain modes or mechanics stand for. Therefore, we will explain to you this time what LTM means and how many LTMs already exist.
What is LTM? In Fortnite, LTMs are often created that players can play alongside the usual Battle Royale. LTM stands for “Limited Time Mode”, meaning: temporary mode. The LTMs are creative alternatives to the usual Battle Royale and include round-based fights with weapons from a specific rarity or weapon type – like the mode “Pure Gold”.
Many modes that bring variety
What are LTMs for? The well-known Battle Royale can be very boring and tiring over time. New modes provide players with more variety. Fortnite fans have the choice to play something different, not just constantly the standard fight on the map against 99 other players.
How many LTMs have there been so far? Since the release of Fortnite, Epic Games has created 57 possibilities to provide variety. From modes that make the storm eye shrink faster, to small team battles of eight groups with 12 players, there has been everything. Even PvE battles against the Storm King in the Halloween event 2019 were possible, but only for a short time.
How do I know if an LTM is active? Epic Games announces their self-created modes in the Fortnite menu. There you will receive a notification in the news feed about an active mode, so you and your colleagues don’t miss it. The notification usually also shows the expiration date, so you know how long you have until it disappears. Because all LTMs are only temporarily available.
What do you think about these modes? Do you play them whenever they are active, or do you prefer to stay loyal to Battle Royale? Let us know in the comments!
