In Fortnite, many players have heard the term “OG” but may not immediately know what it means. We at MeinMMO will explain the meaning behind this designation.
What does OG mean? “OG” is not a term that was created in the Fortnite scene. This designation originated in the rap scene and means: Original Gangster.
In Fortnite, it primarily refers to the players who have been there from the beginning. They are the originals, the “Old School” players, or simply the Original Gangsters.
These players have thus played the original Fortnite and also snagged skins from that time.
So, if you find yourself in a lobby with skins like the Rust Lord or the Black Knight, you know that these are players who have been there since Chapter 1 Season 1.
What examples are there? However, OG does not only refer to certain skins. Weapon wraps, gliders, dances, and pickaxes can be included, especially those that could be collected during the early days, including the following.
Skins:
- Black Knight – Chapter 1 Season 2 – Battle Pass
- Rust Lord – Chapter 1 Season 3 – Battle Pass
- Dark Voyager – Chapter 1 Season 3 – Battle Pass
Pickaxes:
- AD/DC Pickaxe – Chapter 1 Season 2 – Battle Pass
- Revenge of the Marauders – Chapter 1 Season 1 – Season Shop
- The Reaper – Chapter 1 Season 1 – Item Shop
Gliders:
- Mako Glider – Chapter 1 Season 1 – Season Shop
- Raptor Glider – Chapter 1 Season 1 – Season Shop
- Dragon Glider – Chapter 1 Season 2 – Item Shop
Emotes:
- Fresh – Chapter 1 Season 2 – Item Shop
- Clean – Chapter 1 Season 3 – Item Shop
- Pony Ride – Chapter 1 Season X – Free Item
However, this was just a small part of the items that are considered OG.
Can I get OG items? Many of the items were part of the old “Season Shop” system or a Battle Pass and can therefore no longer be obtained. You will only get selected items like The Reaper from the new Item Shop if Epic decides to display it again.
Another method, which can result in a ban, is to ask a friend or family member for their account. We advise against this, as account sharing is prohibited and against the guidelines of Epic Games. You do this at your own risk.
Also, avoid purchasing from shady sites that want to sell you OG accounts. These are usually hacked accounts that are being auctioned off illegally. Some sell their accounts for hundreds of euros on eBay, but selling your own account is also prohibited.
