After the emergency maintenance in Fortnite on 12th April, Epic announced that an update will be released to fix various issues. Compensation has also been announced. One downside remains: The 50vs50 mode will be postponed. We have the patch notes for the Fortnite update on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and iOS.
12th April will go down in the annals of Fortnite history as the great crisis. Due to a critical database error in the account and login servers, many players had to engage in other leisure activities.
The game is still far from running smoothly. For this reason, Epic will roll out update 3.5.1 today. In addition, compensation has been announced – both for PvE and Battle Royale players.
However, due to the instability of the servers, Epic was forced to postpone the relaunch of the 50vs50 mode.
Update 3.5.1 is coming – Patch Notes
After update 3.5, it was no longer possible to assign the editing of components to a different key (G was preset). The issue was actually marked as fixed but remained in the game. This and further bug fixes will come with 3.5.1:
Save the World
- The alert notification for the mini-bosses Canny and Twine will be reset to the status before patch 3.5
- All players will receive two Spring Event Llamas for free
- The conversion of event tickets has been changed. Each Llama costs 1000 tickets. All tickets you have left can be exchanged for a Llama. Example: Do you have 5 tickets left? That gives you another Llama.
Battle Royale
- A bug was fixed that allowed players to fire a weapon even though it was not fully equipped yet (this should put an end to the Double Pumpguns)
- Various client crashes caused by the new replay mode have been fixed
- A bug was fixed that interrupted the sprint animation when firing a remote-controlled rocket
The hotfix will be released today, on 13th April at 10 AM German time. There will be no server maintenance (at least not planned).
Compensations for the long downtime in Fortnite are coming!
As announced by Epic, there will be compensations for all players due to the long downtime. Battle Royale players will receive a backpack skin, while PvE players can look forward to a loot Llama (Troll Stash) that brings an increased chance for valuable items.

If you play both modes, you can benefit from both compensations. The backpack will be available in the shop this weekend, but at no cost; the Llama can be found directly in the loot tab this weekend.
But that’s not all. Next week, Epic will credit Battle Royale players with Battle Stars on their accounts, bringing them closer to the John Wick skin. For the Save the World players, there will be a load of seasonal gold. Epic will reveal more details on this next week.
The 50vs50 mode will be postponed
Due to the current instability of the servers, Epic will postpone the relaunch of the 50vs50 mode. The influx into this extremely popular game mode would probably become too large. They will calmly analyze the issues and release more information.
The 50vs50 mode is now rescheduled for next week. On which exact day Epic will unlock the mode is still unknown.
