Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) received a small mini-patch for Update 5.0. The update includes a new weapon for Battle Royale and one for Save the World. We show you the patch notes in German.
Small patch with a big punch: Today, on 17.07.2018, a new patch for Update 5.0 of Fortnite was released. It included the SMG as the “new” weapon. The submachine gun was removed from the game months ago, but it is back now.
In exchange, another submachine gun was temporarily removed, and the semi-automatic sniper rifle received a significant buff.
The “new” SMG in Fortnite: Battle Royale
What can the new submachine gun do? The submachine gun (SMG, Submachinegun) has been in the game before but was removed in February. Now it is back in an updated form:
- Damage: 19 – 21 base damage
- Ammunition type: Light ammunition
- Magazine: 30 shots
- Rarity: Common to Rare
- Locations: Ground and chests
What is special about the SMG? The SMG is described by Epic as particularly good for close combat. It could turn out to be the optimal weapon alongside the Tommy Gun for the new, dynamic gameplay of Season 5.
Was there another weapon change? Fans of sniper rifles can be happy. The semi-automatic sniper rifle has been buffed. The damage has increased from 65/66 to a respectable 75/78 points.
Old submachine gun is stored in the Vault
Which weapon was removed? To avoid having too many submachine guns, the tactical submachine gun was temporarily removed. The developers described it as “added to the vault” in the patch notes.
What is the vault? In English, the term for vault is “Vault”. It is NOT an existing room full of submachine guns that can be found somewhere in the game world.
Tommy Gun now also in Save the World
What’s new in the PvE mode? In the Save the World mode, there is now also the Tommy Gun known from PvP as the “Rat-a-tat Assault Rifle” available from July 18 to July 25, 2018, in the weekly shop.
Additionally, you can get the entire game for half price until July 30, 2018. If you don’t have Save the World yet, now is a good opportunity.
