To Fortnite: Battle Royale Patch 9.21 has been released. This brings you a proximity grenade launcher that essentially shoots around corners. Also, the Storm Flip is back in tournaments, and a PvE mode with non-zombies is coming soon.
What’s in the new update for Patch 9.21: The highlight of the update 9.21 is clearly the new proximity grenade launcher. There is also information for the new PvE mode Horde Rush in Battle Royale.
In PvE, there’s again a new simulation and futuristic weapons.
Features of the Update for Patch 9.21 in PvP
New Item – Proximity Grenade Launcher: The information about this weapon has already been leaked and seems to be confirmed. The proximity grenade launcher fires small explosive projectiles in an arc. They explode as soon as they approach an enemy.
This allows you to kill enemies who are actually taking cover behind a corner or by shooting past them. The weapon should also provide enjoyment for inexperienced players.

What’s being removed? Nothing, the new weapon has been added, neither the Boom Bow nor the regular grenade launcher has been removed from the game.
Weapon Changes – Storm Flip: The Storm Flip now deals a constant 5 damage per second, no longer the damage based on the current storm strength. This is to prevent players from always hoarding it until the finale and to encourage its use during regular matches more often.
Additionally, it is now less common to find and is allowed again in tournaments .
New Limited-Time Game Mode: The following modes are temporarily available in the game:
- One Shot (Duo): Here you have only 50 health and low gravity. There are only bandages as healing items and exclusively sniper weapons.
- Horde Rush: Here you face the non-zombies, which reappear. This time you must secure defense points against the monsters and earn points by eliminations. There will also be bosses and you will constantly change position to defend new points. The mode will come to the servers on June 13, 2019.
Gameplay Changes and Bug Fixes: Among other things, the following things have been adjusted:
- Shield potions are now more frequently found.
- You now find more shotguns.
- There are now more epic and legendary infantry rifles, but slightly fewer common assault rifles.
Changes in Creative Mode: You will also get the proximity grenade launcher here along with new building parts, including dinos!
The Patch Highlights from the Update for Patch 9.21 in PvE
New War Games – Quantum Countdown: An unstable bomb teleports through your base and the enemies follow it.
New Weapon: Plasmatron 9000: This automatic energy pistol fires chargeable plasma shots that penetrate enemies. You can get it until June 19 in the shop.
