The new patch 6.22 for Fortnite: Battle Royale brings a new weapon, a new game mode, and new stories for Save the World.
Today, on November 6, 2018, patch 6.22 went live on the Fortnite servers. It introduced the Heavy Assault Rifle as a new weapon. Additionally, there are now the modes “Quick Blitz” and the completely new mode “Team Fright.” Meanwhile, the Halloween story continues in the PvE mode.
The highlights of update 6.22 in Battle Royale
New mode “Team Fright”: In the regular game, the non-zombies are gone, but here they return. The new team mode allows two 32-member teams to face off against each other and the undead:
- The goal is to eliminate the opposing team
- Monsters spawn all over the map. As the storm approaches, more spawns occur.
- The monsters often drop special items and ammunition
- You collect 75 percent more resources
- There is 15 percent more loot on the ground and three times as much ammunition
- Chests and supply drops contain double the amount of ammunition and consumables
“Quick Blitz” is back: In this familiar mode, everything happens faster, the storm starts right at the beginning of the game, and there is a lot more loot. After about 15 minutes, everything is over.
- Treasure chests appear with an 80-90 percent chance, while ammunition crates have a chance of 85-95 percent.
- You get 50 percent more resources
- Resource spawns contain 60 instead of 30 units.
- There are four times as many Llamas on the map
- Supply drops occur more frequently and fall faster from the sky
- There are no shopping carts to be found
Heavy Assault Rifle: This new weapon is now available in the game. It has the following stats:
- Rarity: Uncommon, Epic, and Legendary
- Spawn Locations: Ground, treasure chests, vending machines, and supply drops
- Damage: 44/46/48
- Fire Rate: 3.75
- Ammunition: 25
This new weapon deals over 10 points more damage than a regular assault rifle!
Other changes:
- Balloons now spawn with only a 2.3 percent chance instead of 12.2
- The rocket launcher no longer has a pumpkin head
- The maximum storm damage decreases from 10 to 8 points

Part 2 of Halloween: You can now complete the story of Hexylvania in “Save the World” with new missions.
New Mythic Ninja “Nightmare Werewolf”: This new ninja hero will be available in the shop starting November 7, 2018. He is faster and more effective at night.
New Legendary Explorer “Ashen Darkness”: This hero can drain enemies’ life with the skill Phase Shift.
The Candy Corn LMG is now available as a quest reward from Fortnite: Nightmares Part 2. This heavy weapon with a large magazine shoots candies. This ensures that healing candy is dropped.
