In Fortnite, the update 6.20 today is all about Halloween. Fortnite joyfully calls “Trick or Treat!” and launches an event where PvE monsters invade the Battle Royale. We will highlight the patch notes in English and pick out the most important information.
Today’s patch mainly brings nightmares for Save the World and Battle Royale. Additionally, new weapons, time modes, and balance changes will be introduced.
Furthermore, Epic has completely revamped the friends list. Epic aims to enhance the community experience in Fortnite and will be making regular adjustments in the future. For now, the main friends list has received a new look.
Island Explodes: As we see in the video, the floating island has exploded, the space cube is free, and monsters have poured over the world. It seems we were quite close with our story prediction.
The Highlights of the Patch Notes 6.20 for Fortnite: Battle Royale
New Event Nightmares: The Space Cube sends cube monsters that attack players. They appear near cursed areas. Random cube fragments are also expected to be created.
These monsters can leave behind loot. Those who defeat them will receive some shield.
Additionally, a weapon called “Monster Hunter” is coming; it is epic and does 40 base damage. It deals 4x damage to monsters. It will stay in the game as long as the event runs. You can find it on the ground, in chests, and in vending machines in Fortnite.
New Items for Creative Mode: There are new grenades to start mini-games or to set up similar large scenes where mini-games can then take place. The grenades are available in a new vending machine at the southern tip of Loot Lakes.
The smaller challenges include:
- Obstacle Course
- a building challenge
- and a shooting range.
The larger items with their own scenes include:
- Spike Stadium 2 – a vending machine dispenses grenades and traps
- a pocket pirate ship – Here, there are 2 pirate ships, the goal is to sink the other team’s ship
- and the pocket pirate ship in the battleship variant – two large metal ships, plus there are grenades and rockets
New Weapon Firearm: The firearm (six-shooter) comes in green, blue, and purple. It deals 34/36/38 damage and shoots slower when aiming, but also more accurately. You can find it on the ground, in chests, and in vending machines.
Rocket Launcher wears a pumpkin: This is purely a cosmetic change; the rocket launcher has received a pumpkin head.
Hand Cannon significantly improved: The hand cannon now deals much more damage to buildings and opponents. The damage has been significantly buffed.
More stink bombs: Stink bombs should now be found more frequently in Fortnite.
Gliders now deployable: For one week, “Height Rumble” is happening in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Gliders can be deployed again.
Downed players die faster: Players going down will now be eliminated in 50 seconds, not in 100 seconds anymore.
Storm weaker but faster: The waiting times for the storm have been reduced. In phase 3 from 120 to 90, in phase 5 from 70 to 50. However, the maximum damage of the storm has been reduced from 10 to 8.
The Highlights of the Patch Notes for Save the World
Event starts: Part 1 of Nightmares in “Save the World” is available. There is the setting “Hexylvania” and the quest line “Under the Blood Moon.” Epic has expanded it with a new storyline.
Players can earn candies in Hexylvania and buy nightmare llamas with them. These llamas feature the 7 Halloween heroes from 2017 and a survivor set in nightmare look. Collecting all survivors will unlock the legendary pumpkin head thrower.
In the nightmare llamas, there are also new weapons in the “Rat Rod” style.
New Enemies: Vampiric floaters roam in Hexylvania. These are fog monsters that heal themselves when they attack you. During the day, they are weaker. Additionally, husks seem to have put on pumpkin lanterns.
New in the Shop: The new hero Revolverhand-Calamity is also new to the game. Plus Explorer Bloodfinder AC.
Founder Reward: Upon logging in, founders will receive Skull Ranger Ramirez and Brainiac Jonesy.
Save the World on Sale: Apparently as a substitute for the fact that Save the World will not be free in 2018, there is also a sale until November 6th. Save the World is 50% off during this time.
