Patch notes and new content for Season 2
What we know: Epic Games has now officially released the patch notes, and we list them for you summarized and in detail.
Overshields
Building has been disabled in Fortnite by IO. To give you more protection, you receive an overshield over your normal shield and health points. This must be destroyed first before you can kill your opponent. Don’t worry, the overshield regenerates by itself when it reaches 0%.
Upgrades in Movement – Parkour
As you and the Seven confront IO, you also gain new movement options. You can now sprint more aggressively to cling to all edges of buildings like in parkour.
Note that you cannot sprint aggressively forever – a sprint indicator shows you the remaining duration. Additionally, you can kick down any door while sprinting. So create cool moments.
New items – armored bus and turrets with gold bars
Epic allows you to choose which new items come to the game again. They have reintroduced the gold bar selection system. In this system, players will choose between a light or heavy turret.
Additionally, players will have the choice to spend their gold bars on an armored bus. This will then be available in the Seven’s defenses when enough is donated.
New and returning weapons

Fortnite has now provided you with a new arsenal of weapons. You will receive a new SMG and the well-known impulse rifle, but with a scope.
Additional weapons have also been brought back, and they are as follows:
- Thermal assault rifle
- Drum shotgun
- Revolver
- Remote explosives
- Thermal revolver
- Storm scout sniper rifle
- Impulse grenades
Additionally, the weapons from Season 1 have also been included. Thus players have a wide array of firearms to take into battle.
IO has taken POIs
The Imagined Order has taken many important POIs in Fortnite. They have turned the places and towns into camps and reinforced them with their troops. You can recognize the camps on the map by the large zeppelin symbols over the locations.
These camps include tanks, huge turrets, and above all, plenty of loot. If in the coming weeks the IO camps are taken over by the Seven, the existing equipment will be exchanged. Then you can expect armored battle buses and many cool weapons. If you feel like looting the zeppelins, you can pull yourself up with ziplines.
Ram device
Epic has invented a new item with which you can mount a ram device on your cars. With this, you can ram anything that comes in front of your hood.
Server down and new content from Season 2
Will there be a server down? Yes, as was to be expected, there was a multi-hour server down. After activation, players now struggle with queues.
What content can players expect? In a new season, Epic is providing a large amount of new content. As the story also goes in a predetermined direction, you can expect the following content:
- New Battle Pass
- New secret skin – Possibly Dr. Strange
- New or returning weapons
- Map changes
- New vehicles – Trucks with turrets and mobile drills
- New items
- Changes in the start menu
- Possible adjustments to the locker and the “Battle Pass” system
- New feature to sprint faster and more aggressively
- New crossovers
What do you think about the fact that the developers of Fortnite are keeping such a low profile and publishing nothing about the new season? Leave us your opinion in the comments.
