What is happening today in Fortnite? The new Season 8 was announced overnight after the live event “Operation: Himmelsfeuer” by a timer. This was dated until September 13th at 11:00 AM. Now that the timer has expired, all players can happily indulge in the destruction in Fortnite once again.

What new content does update 18.00 bring and where are the patch notes?
Epic Games published a post with comprehensive information regarding the new season. This update includes new weapons, updates to quests, and more. We will provide you with a summary of all content in a concise and updated format.
New weapons are awaiting us
The two new pieces are a scout rifle, which allows for single, precise shots like the infantry rifle. The other weapon is a mini-gun in the look of crystals that glow purple.
Turrents for defense
With the invasion of Kevin, a new threat causes trouble. Kevin, the cube caused so-called tipping worlds. These dimensions can be accessed through rifts. In these worlds, we can measure ourselves against rock monsters and obtain new weapons. To stand a chance against them, we bring out heavy artillery.
Familiar tools are back
We do not start our fight against the Kevin invasion empty-handed. Update 18.00 brings back old items to the game like the harpoon gun or the automatic sniper rifle.
This allows for faster fishing or pumping enemies full of holes.
Screws and nuts are back in action. You can now craft the charged shotgun or a suppressed AR. The 8th season will offer many variations.
Group quests and stamp cards are back
With update 18.00, group quests and stamp cards have been brought back. With them, you can accumulate EXP faster and better to complete your battle pass. Simply selecting the tasks marks them as group tasks. This allows the progress of teammates to count towards your tasks.
Stamp cards fill the remaining EXP you receive from small achievements like fishing at fishing spots or getting assault rifle kills.

Other smaller changes and innovations:
- Reboot cards can now be picked up automatically if you walk over them
- Ink drops can be found in all chests
- Various-colored Kevins scattered across the island
- Small rifts that lead to tipping worlds
- Cosmic chests are now also represented in group quarrels
- Dinos are back in action
