The new Update 10.30 in Fortnite is here. We show you in the patch notes in English what Epic Games brought into the game with this patch. This includes the new zones Moisty Palms and Greasy Grove.
What’s new: The update on September 11, 2019, brings two new Rift zones to you. In the past few days, players have already found out that there will likely be two Rift Beacons causing changes on the map.
Fortnite now confirms this and shows that Moisty Palms and Greasy Grove are now an important part of the map. In the introductory video, you can get an impression of the new areas:
Moisty Palms and Greasy Grove – What’s special?
Moisty Palms: In the video, you can see how players suddenly transform into objects after standing still for a few seconds. They visually become a toilet, a grill, or a shelf. Surprisingly, they can then attack unsuspecting players who enter the zone and do not recognize the transformed people.
Using the crouch button, you transform into an object. As an object, you remain vulnerable.

Greasy Grove: For this new rift zone, Fortnite seemingly came up with a taco theme. The developers state that tacos are the favorite dish there and just the smell brings people there to celebrate.
Occasionally, spicy tacos rain from the sky. If you are in this zone during this time, you will be forced to dance. During this time, you are invulnerable and restore 20 health per second. The only damage you take is from the storm.
Eating spicy tacos restores 10 health (green health + shield). In addition, your movement speed is increased by 40% for 20 seconds.
Gameplay Changes – Weapons
This week, one weapon was vaulted and one was unvaulted.
- The salvo submachine gun goes into the vault
- The tactical submachine gun comes out of the vault
New LTM Knock Town
This LTM comes from the community and was among the top three maps of the creator competition.
How is it played? You swing from place to place with the grappler weapon while dodging opponents’ bullets. They shoot with stone pistols. If you get hit just once, you get it from the air.
The player with the most eliminations at the end wins.
Bug Fixes
- When players are thrown by shockwave grenades, they no longer destroy traps unless they destroy the corresponding building piece
- The info of the zapper trap is now correctly displayed with 4 stars instead of just 2 stars
- A bug with the zapper trap has been fixed, preventing it from being placed on slopes or uneven terrain
- Mechs are now thrown when they touch a cube of the floating island
- The stomp attack of the mechs now deals consistent damage to other vehicles
- The cooldown color for mechs is now displayed correctly
- Players no longer enter the editing mode for a building piece they are not looking at
- Reviving allies no longer causes the reviver to lose connection
- In the inactive pose, players now lower their weapon when standing against a wall – this is intended so that hands are no longer visible through walls
What changes in Save the World?
Road to Summer: This week, you are supposed to help Penny get to the radio station.
New in the Store: In the Save the World store, you will find the Agent Rio.
Standard perk: After the phase change, your next shot with a ranged weapon triggers a phase pulse that deals 31 base energy damage and penetrates enemies.
Commander perk: The base energy damage of the standard perk is increased to 93.
Team perk: Every 5 seconds, your next shot fires a phase pulse that then deals 47 base energy damage.
From September 12 at 02:00 AM, Rio will be available in the store.
Changes to Missions and Systems
What’s changing? In “Road to Summer,” this week, a new quest from Lars is available to you. Additionally, several of the possible spawn points for enemies that made it difficult to survive certain enemy waves have been removed.
- If you want to start a storm shield defense while a storm shield fortress is in progress, a warning will now be displayed
- The rewards in the form of pure raindrops (in missions with strength level 140) have been increased by 25%
- For four-player missions starting at strength level 108, rewards in the form of PERK-PLUS! and upgrade materials have been increased across the board
