The Twitch streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney has become the streamer with the most followers on Twitch through the online shooter Fortnite . Now he announces a break. He has everything he wants, but feels unhappy, he says.
This is the announcement: In a series of three tweets, Tfue said a few hours ago:
- He is taking a break from streaming
- He has everything he could have ever asked for in life, but for some reason, he hasn’t been happy lately
- He feels trapped in a negative, dark basement in his head
Separation from partner Cloak seems to weigh on Tfue
What’s behind it? Some people on Twitter believe that Tfue is primarily affected by the separation from his friend “Cloak”. The two had played together for over a year and were a duo in Fortnite. Tfue even temporarily moved in with Cloak to train with a better ping for the World Cup.
Tfue had actually separated from Cloak about a week ago, because he was extremely upset with him. Cloak had accepted a sponsorship deal with EA, which Tfue had turned down to play Fortnite with Cloak.
When Cloak then stood him up, it seemed like a kind of betrayal to Tfue.
Cloak could not understand Tfue’s anger. He could not comprehend how Tfue could reject such a good deal and said: “It’s not my fault you’re an idiot.”
Tfue seemed affected. He later said in his Twitch stream: “This shows who the true friends are.”

Tfue incredibly successful, but a lot of drama
These could be the reasons for the break: Tfue does not reveal what is bothering him. He is incredibly successful on Twitch, just a few weeks ago he surpassed shroud and became the active streamer with the most followers on Twitch.
However, there are a number of things that might have been weighing on Tfue lately:
- Tfue wants to separate from the eSports clan “FaZe” and has even sued them
- Then he has moved relatively often and relocated his center of life across the USA

- He has been banned on Twitch 2 times in the last year and was just on the verge of a third ban. That would mean the end of his career
- Generally, he seems tired of Fortnite and regularly gets extremely upset about things and changes in Fortnite
- Perhaps he has now also simply achieved everything after becoming number 1 on Twitch, and is missing goals
In any case, it is something special when a streamer as popular as Tfue takes a longer break from Twitch. Because he misses out on revenue from donations, advertising, and subscriptions.
