In Fortnite, the Twitch star Tfue has moved from Florida to New Jersey. That’s nearly 1500 kilometers. Tfue expects the legendary “0 Ping” and even more performance.
This is the goal: Fortnite star Tfue has qualified solo for the Fortnite World Championship, but not yet for the Duo World Championship with his partner Cloak.
At the Fortnite World Championship, there are prize pools of 30 million US dollars and a lot of prestige or “clout,” as the cool kids say:
- only 100 solo players worldwide are allowed in the World Championship
- and only 50 duos
People have to struggle through a brutal 10-week qualification.
With his partner Cloak, Tfue only has this weekend (Week 8) and on June 15/16 (Week 10) the chance to qualify and then compete against the top teams, including the Australians from E11, Stompy, and Tschinken. They have dominated the World Championship qualification in Europe.

How far is he moving? From Florida to New Jersey is 1465.03 km in a straight line.
For comparison: From Hamburg to Rome is 1310.51 km in a straight line. From Berlin to Moscow is 1608.66 km.
Tfue is thus significantly relocating his center of life.

Mystical State “0 Ping”
What is the deal with “0 Ping”? The term “Ping” refers to how long it takes for an input in the game to be processed by the servers. The larger the ping, the longer the delay. In the vernacular of Fortnite players, “0 Ping” is equated with “no delay whatsoever”.
Some players are almost obsessed with their ping and determine their success or failure by this mythical number. Some believe that they are only not reaching the world top in Fortnite because they have a ping of 50 or higher.
However, “0 Ping” is a kind of legendary state where everything happens and works instantly.
This is crucial at the highest level, as in high-level Fortnite, everything revolves around quickly and instantly editing structures. If you suddenly edit a hole into your own wall, you can surprise and kill the opponent on the other side.
Of course, such a hole must also be “edited” shut again immediately so that you do not offer a weak point through which you can be killed. Just like what happened here to Tfue against Ninja.
For “normal mortals,” such clips then evoke desires up to desperation:
Apparently, Tfue also believes that problems in the game are due to him having a “too high ping”. He expects a “0 Ping” from moving to New Jersey with his partner Cloak, as Cloak already lives there and raves about his network.
New Jersey is near New York, an important internet hub. Some say that the games of Division NA East, where Tfue and Cloak also play, are held on a server from which you can have 0 ping from New Jersey/New York.
This is what the new setup looks like: Tfue has already played a first stream with “0 Ping” and showcased his new streaming setup. Some viewers commented that Tfue is now even better.
Additionally, Tfue can also showcase his popular jump out the window in Cloak’s new apartment, much to the delight of his viewers.
We are curious to see if the move will pay off and if the “0 Ping” really has such a significant impact on the game.
Correction: In an earlier version of the article, we wrote that Tfue had moved from California to New Jersey. That was not entirely correct – as there was a stopover.
While Tfue moved to LA for a few months in 2018, into the gaming house of the FaZe clan, he returned to Florida at the end of 2018. However, this move was not as public as his move into the FaZe villa, which was also part of his lawsuit.
