To Fortnite: Battle Royale, the trailer for Season 7 has already been released in advance. It shows a somewhat different version of Christmas with fighter planes.
Due to an accident, the Korean YouTube channel of Fortnite accidentally uploaded the trailer for the new Battle Pass and Season 7 too early. The video quickly spread across the internet.
A Different Christmas Story
What can be seen in the Season 7 trailer? In the now officially released trailer, you first see a small absurdly cute Christmas film, where Crackshot (the legendary nutcracker skin from last year) is lovingly decorating his place for Christmas.
The scene is watched on a TV by a group of the remaining Christmas skins from 2017, who have made themselves comfortable in a cabin. Suddenly there is a rumble, and everyone rushes outside to see what is happening.
There is the iceberg pushed up to the island, and everyone is watching expectantly to see what happens. Then, the command Santa known from skin leaks appears, and the once-gleeful Christmas skins lose their laughter as the evil Santa raises his runic sword and blows the attack signal.
Snowman stormtroopers with weapons prepare to attack, and squadrons of fighter planes full of snowmen begin an air raid. A melody somewhat reminiscent of the Ride of the Valkyries plays, and a creepy “Ho Ho Ho” can be heard.
What does the trailer mean for Season 7
Fortnite really has airplanes now: First of all, it is certain: airplanes are officially in Fortnite now. The planes are biplanes and have built-in machine guns. Thus, they are both the first airplane and the first armed vehicle.
Additionally, it seems that you can stand on the wings. At least in the trailer, snowman troopers are dancing on the wings.
The iceberg is Santa’s fortress: The evil Santa is likely the resident of the ice fortress that is drifting towards the island in the iceberg. And he clearly seems to be a villain who is marching in with his troops to the Fortnite island.
The map is likely really getting bigger: In the trailer, the iceberg actually lands on the island’s coast. If this is also true in the game, the mountain should now supplement the previous landmass and thus noticeably expand the map.
The old Christmas skins will likely return: In the film, all the skins that were available in 2017 for Christmas are visible. They will probably be available again in the shop.
Will the Vikings return? Santa, with his grim beard and runic sword, somewhat resembles a Viking. And then the music to his storm attack sounds a little like Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries.
There are actually already skins with an ice and Viking theme, such as Ragnarök and the Valkyrie, which come from the “Heralds” set from Season 5.
Were the skins in the end harbingers for the arrival of the icy fortress in Season 7? However, in Season 5, they did not play a role in the meta-plot. Will this change now in Season 7?
