In Fortnite: Battle Royale, pro streamer Ninja still does not have his own skin. However, a rival seems to have an outfit in the game now. This leaves Ninja speechless with indignation.
What’s the deal with Ninja and skins? Streamer Ninja has almost everything: he is swimming in money and has a whole army of followers who watch his Fortnite streams daily.
What the pro still lacks is his own skin in the game. Ninja has wished for this for a long time and thinks he somehow has a right to it; after all, he has showcased Fortnite to more than a billion people and has played it from the very beginning, as Ninja himself claims.
Epic has denied him the dream of his own skin so far. Yet, apparently, a completely different streamer has now received his alter ego in the game.
“Do you know that this is a Summit skin?”
What happened? Ninja was just in a session with streamer DrLupo. Ninja was inspecting the new Summit Striker skin that was included in the 4th Starter Pack. DrLupo then pointed out to him, “Say, you do know that this is a Summit skin?”
Who is Summit1g? Summit1G is another streamer who previously also played Fortnite and has now switched to Black Ops 4. The new skin features his colors: orange and black.
Even the letters “1G” were stylized on the chest of the skin with a bit of imagination. Apparently, the new skin was a homage to Summit1G!
How did Ninja react further? Ninja initially reacted skeptically: “No, that can’t be true, the skin is called Summit Striker.”
Only after DrLupo pointed out the colors and the lettering did Ninja begin to doubt, saying, “No, that’s not true, … oh my god, it is true! What??”
Ninja upset: The longer Ninja looked at the skin, the more convinced he became that it was indeed the special Summit1G skin. Ninja then lost his composure when he read the description text of the skin.
It says, “Always first to the Top!”, thus “Always first at the top.” Ninja then exclaimed in a slightly shrill voice, “Seriously?!”
Ninja offended, Epic says nothing
What followed was an offended Ninja, who fell silent for a while and probably had to chew on the whole situation.
Do you want to talk about it? DrLupo slowly realized what he had caused and offered comfort: “Do you want to talk about it?” To which Ninja simply replied, “No!”
This is what Epic says: Epic has stated to an eSports site that the skin is not based on Summit1G. The streamer has not specifically promoted the skin. Perhaps it is merely a skin with a mountaineering theme.
“Summit” simply means peak in English. However, the allusions that Ninja and DrLupo want to discover are not entirely baseless.
What do you think? Is Epic trolling Ninja for his entitlement? Or is it all just a really bizarre coincidence?
A video of the action can be found on Ninja’s Twitch channel.
