How many V-Bucks have been spent in total on skins in Fortnite ? A question that certainly concerns many players. A website wants to show you that, but Epic explicitly warns against it.
What it’s about: The streamer Ali “SypherPK” Hassan shared a picture on Twitter showing how many V-Bucks he has spent on Fortnite skins. The streamer has invested a proud 1,575,500 V-Bucks in his locker. He knows the exact number through a third party that gives you the opportunity to find out these figures.
However, Epic warns under SypherPK’s tweet that one should not use such third-party services. They even recommend changing your password if you have used this service.
Anyone using third-party services should change their password
Which service is this exactly about? This refers to the website fortnite.gg. This website shows you various information about Fortnite. Here you can see, among other things, which device Fortnite pros play with and how the map has changed over the years.
Recently, there is also the option to showcase and get your locker rated. For this, you must link your Epic account to the website so that they have access to your skins. You are then shown how many V-Bucks you have invested in the game overall.
What is the problem? Epic warns on Twitter that there is currently no official tool that displays these statistics. Therefore, one resorts to third-party software. Exactly what Epic does not recommend. They even advise that you change your password and activate two-factor authentication.
In general, you are allowing such third-party providers access to your account. This makes it much easier to get hacked, and in the worst case, you could lose everything you have achieved in your Fortnite account.
How does the community react? The streamer SypherPK shortly after his first post also shared Epic’s response and warned his community. They should all change their passwords if they rated their locker.
Other members of the Fortnite community are calling for Epic to introduce a similar system, so they wouldn’t have to rely on third parties. Others state that they have been using the website for years and have never been victims of hackers.
This is the situation regarding skins in Fortnite: Basically, the battle royale of Fortnite is free. However, you can buy cosmetic items, such as skins, for V-Bucks, the in-game currency. Often, the value of the skin is not the special part, but the rarity. Some skins only appeared for a short time in the shop and are therefore considered particularly rare.
