In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) a comet threatens to devastate the city of Tilted Towers. But some players can’t wait, and they’ve taken matters into their own hands!
Tilted Towers is a location on the map of Fortnite: Battle Royale. The spot is quite centrally located and full of loot and tall buildings. Therefore, many players rush there at the beginning of the game and are often quickly eliminated. The loot is highly contested.
Therefore, Tilted Towers is controversial. Many players feel that the high mortality rate at the start makes the mid-game in Fortnite boring.
Thus, many suspect that Epic Games wants to flatten Tilted Towers. And they want to do it with a comet that gets closer every day!
Like a Swarm of Locusts
To celebrate the likely demise of Tilted Towers – it could happen any day now – players called for a ritual destruction of the city. Players coordinated across all platforms and agreed to wear only basic skins for better recognition.
They then stormed the city in droves, smashing everything to pieces with their harvesting tools! After all, you can destroy all buildings in the Fortnite game world. The scene resembled an attack by a massive swarm of locusts devouring everything.
Once the city was actually flattened, players built pyramids from the gathered resources and danced until the storm killed them all.
Even Trollish John Wicks Can’t Stop the Swarm
Despite numerous challenges, several such actions were carried out. It is actually prohibited to coordinate outside the usual 4-player squads in Fortnite. But with such funny actions, it seems no one at Epic minded.
Another obstacle to the demolition action were nasty John Wick players who regularly attacked the Tilted Towers destroyers and reaped bloody harvests among the defenseless.
And then there were serious performance issues in several cases. Apparently, Fortnite is not designed for a large portion of players to devastate a big city at once.
