Fortnite lets weapons come and go over the course of new seasons. Some of them are unique, while others just waste item slots in your inventory. We at MeinMMO will show you which are the best weapons in the current Season 8.
Where do the weapon infos come from? The information about the weapon stats is based on a list from DotEsports (via. Dotesports.com) and info from the Fortnite Wiki (via. Fortnite Wiki). In this top list, I will compile everything from it and also include my own experience to show you which weapons will surely grant you an epic victory.
These are the best weapons in Chapter 2 Season 8
For weapons in Fortnite, good handling and high damage are usually crucial. As every second in a fight could mean the end, the special function of each weapon is not overlooked. Currently, the following weapons stand out:
- Dragons-Breath
- Spire Rifle
- Spire Minigun
- Lever Action Shotgun
- Submachine Gun
Dragons-Breath
What makes this weapon strong? This beauty may not have been noticed by everyone yet, but this sniper belongs to the mythical weapons of Season 8. With this gun, you have a fire devil in your hands. Nothing is safe from its damage or its flaming effect, but be careful and don’t burn yourself.
Important info about the weapon:
- One bullet in the chamber
- Damage: 116 per shot, damage is increased to 2.5 times for headshots
- Creates a small explosion on impact
- Sets everything on fire upon hit
Where can you find it? The good piece costs 500 gold bars and can be purchased from the NPC (Pitstop) in Boney Burbs.
Spire Rifle
What makes this weapon strong? This weapon not only looks special, it is. By transforming into a Spire weapon, the gun has no magazine. You can only overheat this gun, and that’s where it gets exciting. Through overheating, your fired shots become more powerful and you deal more damage.
Important info about the weapon:
- No magazine size – Consumes ammo until overheating
- Requires assault rifle ammo
- Damage: 29 – 38 – For headshots, double (depending on quality)
- Cooldown: 2.94 – 2.1 seconds depending on quality
Where can you find it: In Spire worlds or Spire anomalies at the respective Kevin chests
Spire Minigun
What makes this weapon special? This gun is the bigger brother of the rifle from the Spire world. With this monster, you can shoot as you like, just like with a regular minigun, but if it’s close to overheating, its fire rate is increased.
Important info about the weapon:
- No magazine size – Consumes ammo until overheating
- Requires pistol ammo
- Damage: 19 – 24 – For headshots, double (depending on quality)
- Cooldown: 5.25 – 4 seconds depending on quality
Where can you find it: In Spire worlds or Spire anomalies at the respective Kevin chests
Lever Action Shotgun
What makes this weapon special? This gun evokes Terminator feelings. With this pump, you can act quickly and fire shots if things get heated. It fires faster than its predecessor, the pump shotgun, and has a cool animation when drawing the weapon.
Important info about the weapon:
- Damage: ranges from 93.6 – 114.3 (depending on quality)
- Reload time: takes 6.6 – 5.4 seconds (depending on quality)
- Magazine size: 6 shots
Where can you find it: Everywhere, in chests, on the ground
Submachine Gun
What makes this weapon special? An oldie among weapons is the submachine gun. With this large razor, you can tear down walls in seconds. The gun also ensures that your enemies’ hit points dissipate into thin air.
Important info about the weapon:
- Damage: 16 – 20 (depending on quality)
- Reload time: 2.31 – 1.89 seconds (depending on quality)
- Magazine size: 30 – 35 in the magazine (depending on quality)
Where can you find it: Everywhere, in chests, on the ground
Fortnite has a lot more good weapons to offer, but these 5 are likely to be the current best guns in Season 8 that will surely grant you an epic victory. You can fill your inventory with firefly grenades or regular grenades, or you take apart a llama and treat yourself to a Slurp Bazooka.
Note: This list is a compilation of weapons that are considered by me and many others to be the “currently best” – but this may not necessarily apply to you. As always, it ultimately comes down to personal taste, individual preferences, and whether you can actually handle the respective weapon or not.
Just because many find it good or the stats are top, doesn’t automatically mean that you will handle it well enough for it to perform strongly for you.
If you have other weapons in mind that are not listed here, feel free to let us know in the comments.
