Since Chapter 3 of Fortnite was released, many players have had time to extensively test the new weapons. Therefore, we show you the four best weapons in the new chapter that you should definitely use.
Where do the weapon infos come from? The information about the weapon values refers to the available values that can be read from the inventory in the weapon menu. This is why we ventured into a self-created map and compiled all weapon values in Creative mode.
In this top list, I will compile everything from it and additionally incorporate my own experiences to show you which weapons will surely bring you an epic victory.
These are the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1
When it comes to weapons in Fortnite, good handling and high damage are usually essential. Since every second in a fight could mean doom, the special function of each weapon is not overlooked. Currently, the following weapons stand out:
- MK-7 Assault Rifle
- Automatic Shotgun
- Stinger Submachine Gun
- Repeater Hunting Rifle
MK-7 Assault Rifle
What makes the weapon strong? The new assault rifle not only shines with outstanding range and stability but also impresses with a new feature: the first-person mode while aiming. You can optimally use this weapon for all ranges and even impress MP players with your high rate of fire.
Important information about the weapon:
- Damage: ranges from 21 – 25 (depending on rarity)
- Reload time: takes 3.4 – 2.8 seconds (depending on rarity)
- Magazine size: 35 bullets
Where can you find it? Any rarity can be randomly found all over the map. However, if you are looking for the mythic variant, go to Sanctuary and fight the Foundation. It drops a strong specimen when defeated.
Automatic Shotgun
What makes the weapon strong? The new shotgun fires rapid shots and allows you to keep up well in combat even at longer distances. Due to its rapid rate of fire, you will have to deal with a slower reload time. However, this can be neglected as you load two shells per charged bullet.

- Damage: ranges from 75.6 – 92.4 (depending on rarity)
- Reload time: takes 8.8 – 7.2 seconds (depending on rarity)
- Magazine size: 8 bullets

Stinger Submachine Gun
What makes the weapon special? With the range that this SMG possesses, you can even keep up with an assault rifle. As the name suggests, its rapid rate of fire allows it to pierce through any cover, and with its relatively large magazine, you won’t run out of breath too quickly.

- Damage: ranges from 18 – 22 (depending on rarity)
- Reload time: takes 2.7 – 2.2 seconds (depending on rarity)
- Magazine size: 30 bullets

Repeater Hunting Rifle
What makes the weapon special? The hunting rifle allows you to fire three shots, dealing devastating damage. Furthermore, it has outstanding range and forgives missed shots thanks to its large magazine.

- Damage: ranges from 81.0 – 99.0 (depending on rarity)
- Reload time: takes 3.7 – 3.0 seconds (depending on rarity)
- Magazine size: 3 bullets
Where can you find it: Everywhere on the map, in chests, on the ground, and at vending machines
Fortnite has much more good weapons to offer, but these 4 are likely the best guns in Chapter 3 that will surely bring you an epic victory. Furthermore, firefly grenades can also be perfectly taken into the inventory to burn down covers for opponents.
Keep in mind: This list is a compilation of weapons that many, including myself, declare as the “currently best” – but that does not necessarily have to apply to you.
