In Fortnite: Battle Royale, rare skins from the past are available today. This time it’s the simple Scythe and the male version of the Ghoul Trooper. These are the stars of the shop in Fortnite today.
What is the shop offering about? Currently, there are two offers in the Fortnite shop that bring great joy to many players: Braniac and the old Scythe as a harvesting tool.
All info on the new skins
What is so special about the two skins? The Scythe is a relic from the old days of Fortnite. When Halloween 2017 was celebrated, the game was still new and relatively unknown. Hardly anyone probably imagined the meteoric rise Fortnite would celebrate a few months later.
At that time, the player count was manageable, and only a few bought the Halloween skins. They were therefore quite rare. Especially the Skull Trooper was particularly sought after and back then it had a simple Scythe as a harvesting tool.
The new, old Scythe: In the new version of the Trooper, the Scythe has a more elaborate design. But anyone wanting the old Pickaxe can now seize the opportunity. Back then, this item was mainly famous for its cool look, the sound effect, and the slightly faster harvesting time. The latter might now be fixed.
The male Ghoul Trooper: Besides the Skull Trooper and the Scythe, there was also a female skin for Halloween, the Ghoul Trooper. Essentially, it was Soldier Ramirez dressed as a zombie.
This skin is missing so far, but the developers have introduced a new male version in the shop. It’s called Brainiac and is a zombie version of the soldier character Jonesy.
What do the skins cost? Brainiac is an unusual outfit and therefore costs 800 V-Bucks. That’s about 8 Euros. The Scythe comes at the same price.
Where is the original Ghoul Trooper? So far, there’s been no trace of the Ghoul Trooper from 2017. Epic seems to be taking its time bringing back the last of the super-rare skins. It is to be expected that its release will cause similar outrage among longtime fans, as was the case with the Skull Trooper.
Some of the regular players of Fortnite viewed the rare skins as a kind of badge of their loyalty to the game. When the skins of yore return, they feel betrayed and react angrily on social channels.
