This is the new game mode: The limited-time game mode Infinity Gauntlet is basically a regular solo round in Fortnite. However, the following deviations apply:
- There is more loot, especially powerful weapons, shield potions, and launch pads
- The storm comes quicker and deals more damage
- You get double the resources when harvesting
- Shortly after the round starts, the Infinity Gauntlet appears. Whoever picks it up becomes Thanos and gains special, overwhelming powers.
However, most players only see the power of Thanos from the victim’s perspective when they are crushed by the purple Titan. How nice would it be to be Thanos for once and crush other players for a change?
Becoming Thanos: Here’s how to guarantee it!
Shortly after the round begins, the Infinity Gauntlet appears somewhere in the safe zone. It is visible right from the start. But what should you do when the Gauntlet appears? How can you quickly get to it to guarantee becoming Thanos first?
The trick with circling: If you know the exact mechanics of the Gauntlet spawn, you can prepare directly for its appearance and reach it first. The trick is to stay circling in the air as long as possible to quickly glider to the Gauntlet’s location.
How to quickly reach the Infinity Gauntlet
Follow this routine, and with some practice, you should reliably be the first to reach the Gauntlet.
- Jump off the edge of the safe zone and immediately activate your glider.
- Then, you need to demonstrate good timing. Deactivate the glider briefly to lose altitude, but then deploy it again to avoid falling too fast.
- Your goal: Be as low as possible while still in the air when the Gauntlet appears.
- Always keep an eye on the timer. The Gauntlet will come crashing down when the timer is around 1:46.
- You can already see the Gauntlet in the sky. Then try to estimate where it will land and make sure you are low enough to land there first. But be careful to stay high enough to cover the distance in the air.
Since some other players know this trick, it should always be a very tight race. By the way, run uncompromisingly towards the Gauntlet, even if shots are being fired around you. Because when you become Thanos, you will be catapulted back into the air and will be safe for a while.
How to win as Thanos! Tips and tricks for the Titan
When you are Thanos, the real fun begins. Because you have 200 shields and 800 hit points. Your shields regenerate immediately when you get a kill, and you don’t take fall damage. However, the storm still damages you.
You must pay attention to your hit points, as they never regenerate. Also, you are always visible on the map.
This is how Thanos’ abilities work
As Thanos, you cannot build or use weapons or items. However, you have a few powerful skills:
- With the left mouse button, you punch. This is a melee attack with a longer range than the pickaxe. It deals immense damage and instantly demolishes any building or destructible map element!
- With the right mouse button, you can unleash a death ray. It may not have the range of a rifle, but it deals 12 damage per second. If you keep an opponent in your sights, they will melt in no time.
- Thanos can perform a charged mega-jump, covering great distances. Additionally, you break through all destructible buildings and obstacles. Ideal for escaping or preparing a jump attack. However, remember that you are defenseless during the jump’s charge phase.
- If you catapult yourself into the air with a mega-jump, you can execute your jump attack with the left mouse button. You will fall like a meteor onto the map and deal damage in the area of impact. You will destroy all buildings on the way down.
- You can also execute the death ray in the air and then hover for a while.
With this tactic, you’ll achieve many kills
When you are Thanos, you should always stay close to your enemies. Your punch is extremely deadly in melee combat, and the death ray only has medium range. Individual enemies are always good targets. Even if they hit you, you should have your shields replenished after a kill and negate the damage.
Watch out when jumping: If opponents are clustering together, quickly use the mega-jump to escape and hope they shoot each other. When you jump, you should ensure you have enough cover, or you’ll take a lot of damage during the jump.
Jump beats fortress: If the opponent is entrenched, simply jump into the air and plow through the fortress from above with a jump attack. Also, be careful not to land on slopes, as you might slide down helplessly.
Kills save lives! If you’re in trouble, still try to achieve a kill. That regenerates your shields. Avoid getting caught in crossfire among many opponents.
Help, Thanos is coming! Here’s how to defeat him!
If you’ve had bad luck and another player has become Thanos, then you have a problem. But the Titan, despite all his power, can be defeated. Use the following tips and tricks:
- Thanos has no long-range weapons. Take him out with sniper weapons!
- Rapid-fire weapons, such as the minigun or the LMG, are very effective due to their high rate of fire.
- The golden SCAR is also a top weapon against Thanos, especially when he’s getting ready to jump.
- You can land headshots on Thanos as well. Ideal when the Titan threatens you in melee and you have a shotgun.
- Try to catch Thanos in crossfire. Different players in different locations can quickly reduce his shields and hit points.
- Use the terrain! Some places in the game world have indestructible objects, such as the big bridge or the goals on the soccer field. Thanos cannot destroy them or break through with a mega-jump. Also important: Try to lure Thanos onto a slope. He will slide down the slope and be unable to do anything in the meantime. So, take him under fire!
The secret weapon against Thanos: The Boogie Bomb is useless in regular Fortnite, but if you hit Thanos with it, he will dance aimlessly, and you might be able to take him out during that time. Just be careful not to hit yourself with it; otherwise, you might end up dancing along with Thanos.
