Fortnite has been telling a story since the end of Season 3. In Season 10, it seems that past events are repeating. Will we finally get the clarification of the story and will we finally receive a new map?
In Fortnite, the story seems to be continuing. To understand what has happened in Fortnite so far, we summarize the first chapters of the story.
Act 1: Comets, Visitors, and Cubes
The first storyline of Fortnite began with Season 3 and ended with Season 6 in a major event.
This is how the story of Fortnite began: The story began at the end of Season 3. Smaller meteors crashed all over the map.
Back then, it was thought that with this event, Epic was announcing that a new map would come – like with competitor PUBG.
However, by the end of Season 3, a big meteor came down, crashing into Dusty Depot and leaving a huge hole.
Now it was clear: Fortnite would change the map, but initially, there wouldn’t be a new second map.

This is how it continued in Season 4: Superheroes and villains came to the map. They fought against each other and destroyed one of the buildings in Tilted Towers. However, it turned out to just be a backdrop for a movie.
In Week 7 of S4, the Visitor descended from a capsule in the meteor.
He sneaked into the villain’s hideout and built a rocket there. The rocket was launched and caused a big rift in the sky.
This is what happened in Season 5: A lightning strike hits the map from the rift in the sky. From the impact, Kevin, the purple cube, is created.
Kevin rolls across the entire map until he eventually sinks into Loot Lake. The water turns purple and players can bounce on it.
This is what happened in Season 6: The cube rises from Loot Lake and becomes the floating island. Runes appear on the map. The floating island flies from rune to rune until it eventually returns to Loot Lake.
The cube charges up strongly until it eventually explodes, transporting players into another dimension: the Butterfly Event.

Act 2: A Song of Ice and Fire
With Season 7, the theme of Fortnite suddenly changed. It was about “Ice” and “Fire.”
Season 7 took a break from the story: It is Christmas and winter is coming. Above the new castle at Polar Peak, an ice sphere hovers. The Ice King is trapped in the sphere.
The Ice King can break free from the sphere and conjures a powerful snowstorm that blankets the entire map.

Season 8 tells the story of Ice and Fire: The Fire King, trapped in an ice cube at Polar Peak, can escape. He roams the entire map and gradually thaws himself. The Fire King creates a volcano and settles there.
In the middle of Loot Lake, there is a large vault. Players from around the world must cooperate and complete tasks for the vault to open. After completing the final task, the vault opens and players can enter to choose which item should be returned to the game. When the players return from the vault, the volcano erupts. It destroys Tilted Towers and Retail Row.
Act 3: Things Get Strange
With Season 9, it seemed that a new storyline was beginning. However, it now seems that Act 1 is continuing.
Season 9: The map was restored and we find ourselves in the future. Tilted Towers became Neo Tilted and Retail Row became Mega Mall. These two places are powered by an unknown energy that seems to come from the vault of Loot Lake.
In an iceberg at Polar Peak, a monster is trapped. The monster manages to break free and takes the Polar Peak Castle with it. It wanders through the map and devastates parts of it. Then it disappears into the sea.
Singularity builds a huge robot at Pressure Plant, where the volcano used to be. The Polar Peak monster rises from the sea and there is an epic battle between the monster and the robot. The robot charges its arm with energy from the Loot Lake vault to strike the monster, leaving an energy sphere at Loot Lake. The battle ends when the robot defeats the monster with a sword.

Is this the end of Fortnite’s story?
This is what is currently happening: Now we are in Season 10 of Fortnite and some of the events from the past seem to be repeating.
- The meteor is about to crash, frozen in the air
- Locations from the old map are returning
- The floating island is back
- The Visitor is said to be returning
- A rocket is being built in Dusty Depot
What could this mean?
A theory about this: A popular theory among Fortnite players regarding the current events in Season is:
We have traveled back in time, before the meteor struck. The Visitor has exited the capsule and wants to repair the destruction of the map. He has set up in Dusty Depot and is building the Rift Beacons there to restore the old locations. However, the restoration of the places is not going as intended.
The places are indeed being brought back, but in a different form:
- Tilted Town in the Wild West
- Retail Row with monsters
- In Moisty Mire, you can transform into objects
- In Greasy Grove, it rains tacos and everyone dances
Additionally, according to a leak, the Visitor is supposed to return next week. And apparently, a rocket is being built at Dusty Depot.

Will Fortnite get a new map?
Could this rocket finally destroy the map?
It is possible that the Visitor will rebuild the rocket and that it could destroy the entire map. We could then start Season 11 with an entirely new map in Fortnite. Some new leaks that have recently surfaced suggest this, bringing new “Points of Interests.”
What do you think? What theories do you have about the Fortnite story?
