In Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) the community is currently excited because a new teaser image for Season 4 has been tweeted. It shows the comet and … superheroes?
What’s going on? On April 30, Season 3 of Fortnite will end and Season 4 will likely start on May 1. Therefore, players are excited about what will happen next and what the theme of Season 4 will be. So far, the following scenarios have been assumed:
- Dinosaur (Due to the recent Dino skins)
- Cyberpunk/Post-Apocalypse (Also due to current skins)
- Aliens (Because of the comet that is ominously approaching and mysterious messages in the game)
But now the developers have presented a first teaser and shown something completely different.
Is the new Battle Pass theme superheroes?
What just happened? Recently, Epic Games published a tweet with an image. It shows a comet-like object with a fiery tail. Next to it are the words “Fortnite Season 4” and in the fiery tail is a masked figure with glowing eyes. Accompanied by the words in the tweet, “Battle, Adapt, Win”.
You don’t have to be very creative to recognize a superhero (or villain?) in the image. Does this mean that superheroes (and/or villains) will be the theme of the upcoming season?
Will Black Panther, Thor, and Thanos come as new outfits?
This speaks for superheroes as the new theme: Considering the start date of the new season, the superhero theme is actually plausible. After all, the long-awaited superhero blockbuster “Avengers: Infinity War” is just starting.
And after Star Lord from the Guardians of the Galaxy already appeared in the game as “Rust Lord”, it would only be plausible for more Marvel heroes to show up in slightly altered forms in Fortnite. John Wick aka “Grim Reaper” came into the game in this way as well.
What else could the Season 4 teaser mean?
What interpretations does the teaser still allow? Of course, there are still many questions related to the comet and Season 4:
- Will the impact of the comet bring the arrival of a superhero or villain?
- Will superheroes appear and fend off the comet at the last minute? Superheroes do that! Will Tilted Towers perhaps still be wiped out as collateral damage?
- Perhaps the comet will strike and release strange alien substances that turn other people into superheroes? That would fit with the message “Battle, Adapt, Win”.
- Maybe aliens will still come from the comet and the superheroes have to fight them?
Also interesting: Another version of the teaser shows the words “Brace for Impact”, which means “prepare for impact”. But this could also refer to the eponymous new game mode that has long been discovered by data miners and is supposed to be coming soon.
And who knows, maybe “Battle, Adapt, Win” also refers to an upcoming “Gun Game mechanic” that makes you stronger with each kill? Both players and Epic have shown interest in such a mode recently.
