In a blog post, Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite, mention that they will take a summer break. However, there could be some happenings in the game.
What was announced? Epic Games announces that they will take a short summer break. The Epic Games studios will be closed between June 24 and July 8. The employees will be on vacation.
Previously, Epic Games closed their studio for a short time during Christmas 2018. However, a lot happened in Fortnite during that time, and it is expected to be the same this summer.
Fortnite developers on summer break – What does that mean for the game?
What will happen to Fortnite during that time? The US site Polygon inquired with Epic and wanted to know if there would be nothing exciting happening in Fortnite during that time and how bugs would be addressed during this period.
Epic responded calmly and confirmed that Fortnite will continue to be updated, just like during the Christmas period. Additionally, measures are said to have been put in place to ensure that there will be a response if there are significant problems in Fortnite.
What can we expect during this time? While the developers were on winter break, a massive event called “14 Days of Fortnite” was presented to the players. This could happen again now, as tasks related to “14 Days of Summer” have already been found, which could soon arrive in the game.
Fortnite will probably not be boring, especially since weekly challenges will still be in place. Only tournaments in Fortnite will not take place during this time, Epic confirms on their website.
That’s why the break is so interesting: In April, insider reports surfaced that claimed many overtime hours at Epic Games, and the developers are under enormous pressure.
It makes it all the more interesting that Epic Games is simply closing down for 2 weeks and all employees will have time off.
The lead animator of Epic, Jay Hosfelt, wrote on Twitter that the employees will also have additional vacation and will take another two-week break during Christmas.
The World Cup qualifiers for Fortnite are now also over. Many well-known players are not seen there:
