In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One) the first official eSports series begins. The Summer Skirmishes will span eight weeks with a total prize pool of 8 million US dollars.
Fortnite and eSports? After Epic had remained silent on official eSports for a long time, the announcement finally came in May 2018 that they intended to invest 100 million US dollars into official eSports tournaments.
The first major official event was then the fun Pro-Am tournament at E3 2018, where a professional gamer and a famous amateur competed in teams.
By now, Epic has announced the next event: The Summer Skirmishes.
8 Weeks of Battles
When does the first tournament series start? On July 14, 2018, the first competition in the Summer Skirmishes begins. Every seven days, more rounds will take place over the next 8 weeks. The rules will constantly change. The first round will be a duo competition.

In subsequent rounds, other teams will also have the chance to qualify. It should always remain fresh and exciting.
What are the prizes? There is a prize money of 250,000 US dollars at stake. Overall, Epic plans to offer 8 million dollars in prizes for the entire tournament.
