In Fortnite a new hotfix has gone live that brings a fresh item to the Battle Royale: you can now counteract dwindling health bars with a delicious pizza.
You probably know the feeling: You and your team are happily running across the Fortnite island when suddenly, you are coldly targeted by an enemy squad. Your opponents attack you in a surprise attack, pushing you to the brink of elimination – quick help is required.
Epic is now delivering this in the form of a hotfix that includes a new item: On January 25, 2022, a small update went live that contains the “Pizza Party”.
The Pizza Party is effectively a pizza box that contains 8 slices of Slurp Pizza. Each slice apparently restores 25 shield points and 25 health points. This can be seen in the short trailer for the new item:
The pizza can fully restore your health, while the shield restoration limit is set at 50 points. Nevertheless, despite this small limitation, the pizza is a damn useful item.
Pizza Party enhances the unusual health items in Chapter 3
What makes the pizza so useful? The unusual aspect of the pizza is that the box contains 8 slices that can be taken independently. A complete box thus grants enough healing items to restore 200 shield and 200 health points.
Equally unusual: Your entire team can access the box when you drop it on the ground. You have the opportunity to quickly provide all your teammates with shield and health when the situation gets critical.
And: The pizza slices are quickly consumed. Unlike Med Kits and large shield potions, you can use them very quickly, similar to fish.
Overall, the pizza serves as a quick remedy for the whole team while saving space in the inventory.
The next unusual item: Recently, Fortnite has noticeably introduced many items that provide you with health or shields that weren’t available in the past. The times of relying solely on Med Kits and shield potions are long gone thanks to fish, instant items, campfires, and Slurp Packs – but it’s noticeable that more and more support items are being added.
- The Med Mist was added, which allows you to spray yourself and teammates with health – even while sliding
- The Fountain heals you up to 100 as long as you don’t take damage
- In the tent, you can recharge yourself repeatedly – and store your stuff

- And the Slurp Sprinkler provides your entire team with shield points if you have patience.
With the Pizza Party, you now have another option to quickly and reliably get your team back in shape.
