Fortnite: Battle Royale is bringing a new item soon. But what is the “Storm Flipper” supposed to be? The community is puzzled.
What is the new item in Fortnite? According to the news in the game, another item is coming for the new update 9.20. It’s a kind of lightning in a bottle called “Storm Flipper”. The description states “Unleash the storm or harness it. You have the choice.”
Is the new item an improved stink bomb?
What does the new item do? According to the description, the new item should be able to create or contain a storm. On Reddit, among other things, the following is suspected:
- The item creates a small storm zone that continuously deals damage
- It is suspected that this zone either lasts for a very long time or could even be permanent
- Alternatively, many players also suspect that the Storm Flipper creates a safe zone when used in the storm. This version could also be extremely useful when late in the game, allowing for longer survival in the storm.
Fans fear for the stink bomb: Since the Storm Flipper in its offensive version does almost the same thing as the stink bomb, namely a damage-over-time effect, many fans are now concerned that the stink bomb will be removed. A user on Reddit has already illustrated this with a funny meme like Avengers: Infinity War.
Other players, on the other hand, believe that both items will have a place in the game. By the way, it is considered very unlikely that the shadow bombs will be removed, as they are part of a weekly challenge from week 1 .
When will we know more? Data miners don’t have any information for us this time, but update 9.20 is expected to be released on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. By then, we will finally know what the Storm Flipper item does.
