In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the new mode Food Fight has been changed again. After some criticism from fans, Epic has now introduced a few changes.
What was wrong with the new mode? The mode Food Fight from Patch 6.30 lets two teams of 12 players build a fortress around their restaurant mascot (burger or tomato head) in 5 minutes.
Then, in a wild battle with respawns, it will be determined whether rotten burgers or greasy pizzas are the better fast food.
Fans had fun but also criticism: The new mode is undoubtedly fun for many players, even if it has not much to do with Battle Royale. However, players complained, among other things, that the mascots were too durable and that the new turrets were a bit too “imba”.
Epic reacts quickly and changes a lot
This is what Epic has changed: As usual, Epic was quick to respond and listened attentively to player criticism. Therefore, just one day after the implementation of the new mode, the first nerf was made:
- The hit points of the mascot were halved. Instead of 200,000, it now has only 100,000 hit points.
- Turrets now drop only half as often in the Food Fight. This is to prevent everything from being spammed by the turrets. The turrets were additionally nerfed.
- The storm timer of Storm 4 was added to Storm 3. This means there are now only three storm circles instead of four.
- The auto-damage of the mascot was reduced by 40 percent. This refers to a mechanic that makes the mascot “decay” after 5 minutes. This is to prevent fights from dragging on forever when no one can prevail.
This is what the fans say: Many fans of the Food Fight mode wished for exactly these changes and are happy. Others, however, want even more. Their demands include:
- More distance between the two restaurants
- No turrets at all or at least a construction ban in the base itself. Players often win by sneaking into the enemy base and building a turret right beside the mascot. This allows them to take it down quickly.
- An option to fight either with the burger enthusiasts or the pizza cultists. Some hardcore fans can hardly stand carrying the burger or tomato head.
Others, however, consider the whole mode nonsense, which is only there to give talentless noobs a few kills. However, the majority of fans still seem to be having fun.
What do you think of the new mode so far?
