“Start the ship” is a new challenge in Fortnite . MeinMMO reveals to you where to find the three parts and how to install them in the ship. We show all locations on the map and in the game.
What is new? In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the map has changed again. The last map change was only a few days ago – now a new island appears. The visitor has landed there and brought a challenge with him.
Upon landing, his spacecraft lost three parts needed for takeoff. You need to find and install the three parts. In our guide, we show you where to find the parts and where they belong on the spacecraft.
Tip: You can complete this challenge in the Battle Lab without having to be on a map with other players or opponents.
Where is the ship? In the north of the map, near Craggy Cliffs, a small island has revealed itself. It looks like a fish from above. You can find it in grid cell F1.
If you find the spacecraft in the north of the map, the challenge begins for you.
Start the ship – Locations of the 3 parts
We show you here in detail the locations of the thruster, the battery, and the heat shield.
Find and install the thruster
Here is the thruster: The most obvious part of the search is the thruster. It is stuck in the mountain, east of the island. It is best to use the rocks that are standing around the area and destroy them. This way, you can build the stairs to reach the thruster. Then install it at the engine of the spacecraft.
Find and install the battery
Here is the battery: This part is a little hidden. Near the spacecraft, still on the island, you will find a rock formation. It is surrounded by parts of the island. If you get closer, you will hear hissing sounds that indicate the location.
It is best to break down the rocks and then search the water surface below. The battery is hidden in the water.
Installing the battery: On the left side of the spacecraft is a place for the battery. There you install it.
Find and install the heat shield
Here you find the heat shield: The location of the heat shield is also a bit hidden. Away from the island, on the eastern beach, the shield is located at a rock formation.
Grab it and go to the spacecraft. Below the place where you installed the battery, you will find the spot for the third part.
What happens next?
Start the ship: Once you have installed the shield, the next interaction with the spacecraft is “Start the ship”. Perform the action, and the event begins.
Then a countdown of 60 seconds runs. When the countdown reaches 0, the spacecraft will start and disappear into the sky.
We from MeinMMO tested this in the Battle Lab. When the countdown reached 0, we suddenly disappeared through a rift and found ourselves in the air.

What does it bring? You will receive three times 14,000 experience points for this challenge.
- If you collect all 3 parts, you will be rewarded with 14,000 EXP
- If you install all 3 parts, you will receive another 14,000 EXP
- If you start the spacecraft, you will receive 25,000 EXP
