With a short maintenance, Epic Games aims to fix the current issues with the uncounted victories and shopping carts. To this end, the servers of Fortnite will be taken offline. After the server maintenance, the Week 5 challenges should also go live.
Update June 1: Once again, on June 1, there are issues with Fortnite. Matchmaking is disabled – read all about it here:
Yesterday, on May 30, the new update 4.3 was deployed, which brought shopping carts to Fortnite: Battle Royale and new content to Fortnite’s Save the World mode. However, the update also brought issues. There are some lags and hiccups when using the shopping carts.
Victories not counting in Fortnite: Even more serious is that victories are not counted correctly. For this reason, there will be another downtime today, Thursday May 31. Epic further reports server crashes.
When will the servers be back online for Fortnite?
When does the downtime start? At 09:30 the matchmaking will be disabled, and at 10:00 the servers will be shut down. How long the maintenance will last is not known. Specifically, improvements are to be made to the backend services to ensure that victories are counted correctly again.
How long will the servers be down for Fortnite? That is still unknown. Normally Fortnite is back up by 12:00 during such maintenance, unless something is wrong.
Update 12:08 Maintenance could take longer: Fortnite is still down. It might take longer this time because extensive work on the infrastructure is being carried out, as announced by Epic Games.
Update 12:48 It’s back up: Fortnite seems to be running again. The servers are online.
Unfortunately, there are still problems, even though the servers are back up:
Are the victories gone?
What about my victories that I earned in the meantime? Are they gone? Most likely yes. There was already a problem with the uncounted victories. Epic was able to fix the issue later – however, the wins achieved in the meantime were gone. We will only know more when the servers are back online.

Are there new features after today’s downtime? Most likely not. It is solely about fixing the issue with the victories and improving the performance of the shopping carts.
Fortnite: Week 5 challenges should come after maintenance – Here’s what they will be
New challenges are coming: However, the Week 5 challenges will go live after the maintenance.
Epic also reported that there were server crashes, which should also be fixed during the maintenance.
No Fortnite this morning. What are you doing in the meantime?
