In Fortnite today, on January 10th, the servers are down on all platforms (PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The maintenance work is being used to upload a hotfix to the servers.
What is happening today in Fortnite? Once again, the servers in Fortnite are being shut down. However, this is a shorter update that is meant to fix some issues in the game and even brings back a disabled weapon. When you can play again, you will find out from us.
Fortnite: Server Down – When and how long are they offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: The servers will be shut down according to Epic Games at around 10:00 AM German time to install a hotfix. The matchmaking will already be disabled 30 minutes prior, so you will not be able to search for new rounds from 9:30 AM.
When can you play again? Epic Games itself speaks of a somewhat shorter maintenance, you should be able to log in again in no more than an hour. If the servers do stay in idle mode longer, we will keep you updated on this.
When will the patch notes come? Epic Games usually publishes a short list of patch notes on their site after the update. If that happens, we will list them here in a clear and concise manner.
What new content does the hotfix bring?
What’s new for the battle royale mode? Fortnite has had to endure some bugs and issues over Christmas, such as server disconnects or even the broken shockwave hammer that players exploit in matches. The developer wants to address these issues today, so we assume no new content will be implemented this week.
