Today, on 24.07.2018, the Fortnite servers will go offline for the 5.1 update and the birthday celebration of the game on all platforms (PC / Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS). When will the servers be down? When can you start playing again? One thing is for sure: This week will offer you a lot!
Fortnite has a birthday: Today, on 24.07., Fortnite turns one year old. A good reason for Epic to celebrate this date. Before you can put on your party hats and start the conga line, you’ll first have to endure some maintenance.
The update promises to be fantastic – look forward to the return of a popular game mode, the new super weapon P90, and an improved Slurp Juice. “Save the World” players will also get their share!
Fortnite servers go offline – When will they be back online?
When does the server downtime start? Around 9:30 AM German time, the player search will be disabled. At 10:00 AM, the Fortnite servers will then be shut down.
When will the Fortnite servers be back online? Given the many contents that are supposed to come with the 5.1 update, you should plan for a bit more time this week. Not only will the Creative Mode return, but also other content will need to be patched into the game.
Between 12 PM and 2 PM, the maintenance work should be completed. When that will be, and what the patch notes will contain for you, you will find out as usual at Mein MMO.

What’s included in the update for Fortnite: Battle Royale: There will definitely be a lot to do and discover. Battle Royale players can look forward to the following content:
- The Creative Mode will return improved (unlock on 25.07.)
- The new, potentially powerful submachine gun P90 will come!
- The Slurp Juice will finally be useful!
- Buyers of Founder Packs in Save the World will receive two new skins as a reward!
Furthermore, it is not unlikely that Epic will make smaller changes to the map that are intended to advance the story.
Update: The patch notes for Fortnite 5.1 are already here – we have them in German.

What’s included in the update for Save the World players: The Save the World mode also celebrates its birthday. In addition to special birthday llamas, you even have the opportunity to snag missed items again. In addition to the long-awaited campaign expansion in Bru-Tal, Fortnite will be generally more generous.
What do you think about the update? Will you jump in right at the start?
