Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) is finally back online after a long server maintenance. But the challenges and tasks expected for today for week 2 are not there yet: Where are the challenges?
Update: The challenges for week 2 actually went live right at 3:00 PM.
A long wait for nothing: Today, on 19.07.2018, the new challenges for week 2 of season 5 were supposed to be available on the Fortnite servers at 10:00 AM as usual. Instead, the Fortnite servers were down until around 1 PM. The game has only recently become playable again.
But the challenges and weekly tasks are still missing!
Where are the challenges for week 2?
Nothing happening! When the servers came back online, I logged in like a quick raccoon to finally find out the current challenges for week 2. But there was nothing to see. Instead, it still said “In 3 hours” for week 2. Also, no game could even be started.
Weekly tasks only at 3 PM? Well, the problem with the matches was resolved shortly after, and people could play again. But the challenges for week 2 were still missing. Instead, it now said “In 2 hours”. So far, that hasn’t changed. Does that mean that the weekly tasks would only go online today at 3 PM?
No patch notes so far – What has the update changed in Fortnite?
What has the server maintenance achieved? It is also unclear what exactly has happened. Epic still speaks of a maintenance period, meaning server maintenance. This might indicate new content but doesn’t have to.
No gift option after all? Many fans were expecting a return of the creative mode or the previously teased gift option. But so far, there is nothing to be seen.
There is no new game mode, no new options for the shop, and nothing new in the news window except for the already known submachine gun and the 50% discount on Save the World.
Maybe the long downtime was really just that, a server maintenance possibly preparing the matchmaking for the return of the new creative mode.
As soon as we know more, we will inform you here. At least you can play again now and possibly catch up on the still missing challenges from week 1.
