What happens during the server downtime? The servers will be shut down. During this time, you cannot play Fortnite.
Server Down in Fortnite – from when? The servers will be shut down on May 2, 2025, at 08:00 AM. Shortly before that (about half an hour), matchmaking will be disabled (via x.com).
When can I play Fortnite again? As this is the release of a new season, you should plan for 1 – 4 hours. There have often been complications with the downtime, which extended the server downtime. So this can’t be ruled out.
When will patch notes be released? The official patch notes have already been released and you can find them in the Fortnite blog post. We will provide you with a detailed list regarding this during the downtime.

What can I expect from the upcoming update? The update brings Season 3 to Fortnite. However, Season 3 does not bring an ordinary season to the game, but a major collaboration with Star Wars. Fans can expect events, skins, weapons, and new gadgets that will primarily shake up the meta.
If that weren’t enough, there will also be major map changes, so fans can explore something while fighting for the Alliance or Rebels.
