What happens today in Fortnite? The update 16.10 was announced by Fortnite Status on Twitter and is scheduled to be applied today. The patch will make some changes in the game, as it is expected to be a larger update.

Before players can embark on a discovery tour and try out all the new cool features, the Fortnite servers will first be taken down for a while as usual.
Fortnite servers will be taken down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: The downtime for the update starts at 10:00 AM German time. At 9:30 AM you will be able to join a new match for the last time, after which the servers will be taken down and Fortnite will be down for a short time.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on experiences from recent weeks and months, the work should be completed around noon. Fortnite Status has noted that the patch size on PC for update 16.10 will be larger today.

When will the patch notes come? Based on experience from the last updates in the new chapter of Fortnite, there will probably again be no or only superficial patch notes released for the battle royale mode.

What new content does update 16.10 bring?
What new features will there be in the battle royale mode? Fortnite Status introduced several new features and changes in the announcement of the update on Twitter. This is what you can expect after the downtime today:
- A new predator will haunt the island
- Crafting and loot adjustments
- Firing rate of the prehistoric shotgun will be reduced
- Crafting of the shotgun will be adjusted
- Crafting materials now cost the same as the crafting rarity
- Tier bones and metal parts now available as ground loot
- Moving storm zones return
In addition, several bugs are supposed to be fixed. With update 16.10, 8 annoying bugs will be removed from the game.
Update 16.10 seems to bring not only a lot of new content and fix many bugs. It appears that the Fortnite professionals from the competitive scene will also get their wish fulfilled. The professionals have complained that the new prehistoric shotgun is too strong and urgently needs a nerf. With this patch, the desired nerf seems to be coming, as the firing rate of the shotgun is supposed to be reduced.
